Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

No bar nor alcohol , lobby lacked atmosphere, little variation at breakfast , noise from nearby overlooked apartments, flashing smoke detector light , though we did actually sleep pretty well .
Fabulous location ...very clean ..newly renovated bedroom with lovely wallpaper ..BBC news channel and BBC 1 and BBC 2 ...lovely shower gel and shampoo and hand-wash ..fresh towels every day . . The new girl on reception from Romania was a joy ...other staff could have engaged more with us guests..but were polite ..Lovely velvet chairs in lobby .Great price

Loud music outside, which is out of the control of the hotel of course, but it was so warm inside of the room we needed to have the windows open. Next day we got a fan, that worked very well and was delivered to our room rather quickly.
Clean room and exceptional service from the staff.

- Uncomfortable matress, they told us they were going to change it they never did... - I advise them long time before I was shortning my stay and needed to have an extra room: No flexibility at all, I lost more than 500 euros for nothing! - The street side rooms are very noisy!

As the rooms have no airconditioning and it was very hot, we had to sleep with our window open. The street was very loud and this was a bit bothering. Nothing to not be fixed with earplugs, but a bit annoying unfortunately. Bed was a bit too soft but thats preference.
Nice and cozy hotel in the heart of Brussels. Close to the nicer area’s in the centre with a lot of bars. Public transportation was right around the corner. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Shower was amazing! Staff was very kind. Would definitely book again!

The corridor lights are automated and kept turning off quickly so when I’d enter the room I was in darkness and had to use my phone light to see where the power slot for my hotel key card was. I thought I could have water but they told me I have to buy it.
Great location, clean room and facilities. Shower was spacious and modern, comfy bed. I didn’t have the breakfast so can’t comment on that.

The room, specially the toilet, was very small. A bit noisy during the night (normal due to the location)

I would have liked a second pillow instead of only 1 per person. There was only a kettle and tea in the room, but after i signalled the absence of coffee I could get coffe for free from the breakfast room.
This old hotel has been carefully renovated. I appreciated the efficient heating, the space provided for luggage (Twice as much as in other similar hotels) and efficient Wifi.

There is a club/bar next door which is open till the early hours of the morning. It didn’t bother us but if you would prefer a quieter room I’d advice asking for a room at the back.
we had a lovely stay at Dansaert hotel. Staff were lovely and very accommodating when checking in. Location is superb about a 5 minute walk from the main square. Our room was gorgeous and has every amenity we needed.
