Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandWe liked everything, although one of us found the mannequin slightly spooky while settling down on the first evening
Quirky decor &great location (a quick walk to the centre of the city, but away from the noise). Marjan was so welcoming and provided us with a lovely breakfast selection of breads, jams, fruits, yoghurt and pastries each morning. We met the cats Jimmy and Hendrix, and they were both gorgeous brought even more joy to our stay!

United KingdomNothing to not like.
It is one of a kind- the property, the decor- it’s a hidden gem. If travelling to Bruge, I’d definitely recommend staying at this bnb. It’s cozy and homely and the host is the loveliest. The view is amazing. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is filling and delicious. The room is spacious. My favourite thing was the radio connected to one of the light switches. Having radio playing in the background changes the vibe of the room so much and makes it feel so snug. Oh! And the cat is very friendly. Definitely go with Marjan’s recommended places to visit and eat. They are all really good.

United KingdomThe narrow steps may make it difficult for some to carry large luggage to the top floor which is the room we stayed in.
It was conveniently situated within walking distance of Bruges centre but yet had a lovely quiet setting.

LatviaThis is not just a room in a private house, this one is truly a boutique - room decorated with taste! We found ourselves in a fairy tale in the emphasized room. Great location, continental breakfast. The main feature of this place is of course the hostess! Friendly, helpful, will tell you everything about everything!

GermanyThere really isn't anything to dislike about the place.
This is a gem of a place in the heart of old Bruges. It's like living at an atelier and a museum! Every little corner is exceptionally put together, and you can see the live and the artistry that has gone into making it what it is. If you've seen the pictures you know what to expect, but being in Marjan's house exceeded those expectations. Moreover, we had the most comfortable stay ever. Marjan is a very thoughtful host. You can ask her anything anytime, she goes above and beyond to cater to your needs and comfort. Her personalized list of recommended activities and places to see made our trip that much more special. We hit al.ost all the spots she suggested and they were every bit worth it. We'd absolutely love to stay here again anytime we visit Bruges again.

AustriaThere is very little not to like in this B&B, it is a private house with two rooms that are for rent, each on a different floor. With large luggage it is rather difficult to go up to the individual rooms because of the stairs which are very narrow.
The house is in the middle of the old town. You can walk everywhere and visit everything. There are restaurants nearby. It is very nice, very homely and very familiar and the hostess is a super nice, friendly person. The breakfast was very varied. Marijan added something new to it every day. Different juice on a daily basis. There were fresh pastries and either salami or cheese every day. The hostess always gave us lots of tips about where we could eat, what we could visit and what exactly was happening in the city. The bathroom is very well equipped with a hairdryer with shower gel with all sorts of things you could need.

United KingdomNothing! It was superb!
We were expecting the unexpected and we were not disappointed! Marjans place is very cool and quirky. Every time you look around you see something new and interesting! We thought it was great fun and really loved our stay! Outside of the cool place, Marjan was so welcoming and gave us some great tips of places to go to make the most of our trip. Her breakfast was delicious and the location to the centre and our view of the canal were also great!

FranceThe host was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was great and very generous. The B&B is located quite close to the centre, roughly a 10 min walk to Burg square. All in all, it was a nice (and interesting) experience.

United KingdomNOTHING! But the decor is quite unique and some may find it somewhat overwhelming
EVERYTHING! This B&B had a 'WOW' factor the moment we walked through the door. For us, it's quirkiness and kitch made our stay even better. Our room was large. Facilities provided included a kettle, filter coffee maker, fridge and microwave. Shampoo and body wash and tissues were also found in the bathroom. The bed seemed larger than a bog-standard double and was extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast provided every morning (including day of checkout)was delicious and our brilliant hostess Marjan, ensured we only needed to ask if we required anything. She also gave us brilliant tips for getting the most from our sightseeing and her restaurant recommendations were spot on. The area was quiet, but it was walking distance from most of the touristy areas and shopping. If you like 'different' and enjoy exceptional hospitality, then this definitely is the B&B to stay when in Bruges!

United KingdomI loved everything, one thing to remember is that there is no lift so access to the rooms is by stairs only also there is no air conditioning which may be an issue in unseasonably hot weather. Very minor points though, I would not hesitate to rebook when next in Brugge.
I stayed in the attic room which is perfect, complete with en suite shower, microwave, coffee maker ,fridge, TV and WiFi. Very comfortable bed and seating area. Tea and coffee are supplied as is a wonderful breakfast every morning, a range of drinks and juices are also available from your fridge. Marjan is a wonderful host full of great recommendations of where to visit, eat etc. She is a delight to deal with and very helpful and accommodating I cannot recommend Expect the Unexpected highly enough. A great eclectic mix of art and objects adorn the whole property making for a real treat.

It's near the canal surrounding the city, which is great for a walk, bike ride or running if you wish. The house is full of character and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and slightly different every day. Marjan is a great host and happy to offer suggestion on how to enjoy the city.

United KingdomEverything! The place is quirky in all the good ways and it's sometjing different fromnyour classic hotel room. I lobed the music switch and the space, very nice for one person looking to relax. Location is great to explore not only the centre but the outside of the city too. The host is greay, giving plenty of information and up for a chit chat. The breakfast is left outside your door in a small treasure chest, different every day with fresh bakery products and more.
