Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe bed was really caved in but it was a nice king size bed.
The staff was lovely. The room was much nicer than I'd imagined and the bathroom had us all going "wow" it was huge with a fantastic sunken tub.

United KingdomSome different beer in the mini-bar, please. Something like St Bernardus, Orval, Duvel. Disappointed to not have a space in the car park.
Room was lovely, up in the eaves. Very large, with great facilities My wife was delighted to find a half bottle of her favourite champagne in the mini-bar

FinlandThe breakfast is a bit plain for 12 euro pp, but I guess that's normal for Belgium/Ghent. Also there was some minor "wear in tear" on the items in the room.
Amazing room (lux suite) with an "old Flemish house" flair - high ceiling supported by century-old wooden beams, very airy and light (windows to two sides). Staff was very helpful and responsive, confirmed early check-in immediately, went forward to offer us a secure parking for the motorcycle in the courtyard, upgraded our room for free, and in general was very pleasant to communicate with.

United KingdomNo real negatives. Stair carpets needed a vacuum and aircon would have been nice in the room.
A lovely big room with a super comfortable bed. The breakfast was fine and the staff friendly. Pleased there was free water in the room. These days that's rare.

Free water was provided, as well as plenty of towels. The staff were lovely and the bed was comfortable.

PolandExcellent place to stay in Gent - location close to city center, helpful and kind staff and the option to have drinks on ground floor is definitely helpful on rainy days 🎂 The only problem was with extremely steep stairs leading to our room (especially when it comes to carrying 🧳) Overall highly recommended!

United KingdomWe were on second floor, up a very steep, narrow wooden staircase. Coming down in motorbike gear/boots with all luggage- not for the fainthearted!
Central location. Short walk into town. Lovely big room and bathroom with a deep bath. Great after a long motorbike ride.

South AfricaBeing allocated a room at the top of very steep stairs (no lift). We happened to have heavy suitcases and are of retirement age, so lugging them up to the room was no joke.
The room was excellent in almost every respect. The size and facilities of both bedroom and bathroom was most comfortable, The staff were most helpful and friendly.

United Kingdoma weird smell used to come from the bathroom, this I believe is due to nature of the building, or might be old plumbing or might be being beside a river. Heating in the main room was very terrible and old and took ages to heat up the room. bit more on the price per night, also could do by giving more free water bottle or tea/coffee pods.
Very friendly staff. location was perfect and very close to the main city and attractions. close to tram stop and many restaurants, cafes and pubs.
