Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNo complaints.
Small hotel more like a house than a hotel. Great location and rooms were clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast with a large variety of items. Good value for price paid. No lift so if you have mobility issues request a room on lower floors.

TurkeyThe location is great and close to both the train station and the centre. We could reach everywhere within walking distance. The lady at the reception allowed us to early check-in and change our room to an available room even though we arrived early.

United KingdomGreat hotel, great breakfast & great staff. The only problem we had was we were on the 3rd floor & there was no lift and we weren't very fit so consider a room on a lwr floor. Great location would definitely return.

TurkeyOur hotel was underbooked, and they relocated us into another hotel of the same group. It was an amazing upgrade. Even though it was 10 minutes further away from the center, it was worth it. Has great interior and good free amenities from Rituals. I can't say anything about this hotel, but the hotel we stayed in (Hotel Ter Brughe) was amazing, right next to the river. There was free coffee and tea in the room.

United KingdomNot a criticism but our room had a bath and handheld shower head but roof sloping so really difficult to shower . Also, just a heads up, if you aren't on ground floor -there is no lift and lots of narrow stairs.to carry bags up

GermanyWe really have nothing to complain. Yes, you could hear the street a bit, and some sounds from the neighbours and the floors are creaking, but just have a right expectation from a place like this. It is an old town hotel, and it is perfect for this case.
Very friendly hotel supervisor/host. Comfy room, nice breakfast, the location is just perfect. Super clean. Some might say that a hotel is a bit worn out, but it did not feel like that. This is a historical building, and the interior is respectively stylish.

United KingdomNothing springs to mind.
The hotel is well located in a relatively quiet area but close to the Historic centre. Free tea and coffee making facilities are available. We checked in early and were made to feel welcome.

BelgiumBathroom a bit tired with a ledge over the loo you have to be careful not to bash your head on. Not much soundproofing, but it's an old building so we kind of expected that.
Lovely welcome and top location. Large room for Bruges and nice and warm. Coffee and tea in the room and also available 24/7 in the breakfast room. Big, soft bed and plenty of wardrobe space. We could leave our bags in the lobby after check out.

United KingdomGood central location for visiting Bruge. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was good, reasonable space. Bathroom, very good size, Shower in Bath. OK. Access to the room we had is via a very steep staircase with shallow steps so if you have any mobility issues you need to make them aware as this room would be difficult. They have other rooms that are easy.

AustraliaSmall amount of street noise (not a big problem) and make sure you're comfortable with stairs (like most older hotels in Europe) and watch your step!
Hotel Het Gheestelic Hof is a lovely hotel smack bang in the heart of Bruges. We were met by pleasant English-speaking staff and had a street-view room overlooking the lovely Christmas lights. The room was spacious, clean and modern for such an old building, with a comfortable bed and generous-sized bathroom with a lovely big shower. Unfortunately we didn't try the breakfast, but there was tea/coffee/hot chocolate always on-hand downstairs. The location is perfect, with no more than a 5 minute walk from the picturesque centre of Bruges, and a 15 minute walk from the train station.
