Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsLocation is absolutely perfect! Close to everything, the Leie, all interesting sites, tram stop. Room was small but fine especially since we weren’t there much. It was clean enough and we didn’t hear other guests even though we had ‘neighbours’. We stayed at the front which meant a good view at Gravensteen!, but we heard some noise every morning rather early: collection of glass by municipality, delivery trucks etc. It wasn’t too bad but if you want to sleep in late make sure to get a room at the back or use earplugs (which are provided for by the hotel by the way). Good shower.

AustraliaThere was a great big beam going across the room diagonally, which we kept hitting our heads on. It went from the floor in one corner to the centre of the ceiling. Very random. The room was very small, and the toilet room was miniscule - we could hardly shut the door as there wasn't room. It was also very close to the bed, which I didn't like.
The staff were lovely, very helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Location was brilliant.

United KingdomDriving a car around Ghent is not recommend. For me when I got there it was dark and finding my way around in a car was confusing especially in a right hand drive car but would recommend for anyone who hasn't got a car.
Lovely spacious room that was comfortable and had everything needed. Right in the centre of Ghent so brilliant place to stay and explore Ghent. Really friendly staff that are very helpful.

United KingdomThe Sauna facilities aren’t great: door key doesn’t work, the sand clock doesn’t work, there’s no thermometer, to get to the shower you need to cross the gym (it should be closer), the cold water setting in the shower doesn’t work, shower drain is clogged, and the service is charged as an extra not included in the accommodation fee
Good location and has a Sauna

United KingdomEspecially requested and confirmed early check-in with hotel via booking.com messaging as we needed it before heading out for a concert mid afternoon but on arrival staff were not aware and room was not ready. Breakfast room a bit crowded, warm and claustrophobic and lay out was poor and coffee machine wait was long. Not the best value hotel - I am sure there are better.
Great location and we had a nice super quiet room in annex which was important as we were their for the Gentse Feesten Music Festival. Nice bathroom. Good air-con. Great 'public-private' toilet in the entrance.

NetherlandsSuper small rooms. Bathroom is ultra small. Only 1 person fits. Maybe this is normal for a city hotel. But one of the smallest hotel rooms I ever stayed in. Bathroom ventilator wasn’t working properly and was making a lot of noise.

GermanyThe first room we have was not the room was described on Booking.com. They say: Courtyard views but we have street view, then the room was too hot, is not possible to open the window because is really loud . That’s why we ask the staff in the middle of the night to move other room. I cannot say is Booking.com or Property mistake. But that’s is the was night I even have on my holidays.
Really center and there is parking lot . The staff really friendly. Booking.com was upgraded us, but the room was really Hot. We ask the staff to change our room. Luckily there is one room empty . Is very small but possible to sleep.

BelgiumThe breakfast: - The bread rolls were like sponges. - The eggs were very flat no seasoning. But there was pepper and salt. - The hair dryer was dead. But there was was another one at the reception. - The badroom was to small. No room to put your stuff. No toilet roll hanger. When using the shower, all the water fell in the toilet cleaning brush. The room wasn't smelling any good. Chemical odeur from the ugly carpet. The lights in the hallway switch off to soon and do not turn immediately after you enter the hallway. The coffee machine in the room: was loaded with chalk.
The location was splendid. Everything was at walking distance. Their was no noise at night. Good comfortable bed. There where umbrellas attended to enjoy your stay in the rain.

We were in a room on the third floor with a view towards the back so nice and quiet, compact room but didn’t feel squeezed in, comfortable bed and good shower. Very good central location, bikes in the garden but tucked away. Really nice staff at check in, stayed an extra night to explore more of the city.
