Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe check-in was available only after 4 p.m. (we arrived at 1 p.m.) which was a bit inconvenient, as we had a lot of luggage and had to change. The design of the room was a bit old-fashioned and the wallpaper was off in some places.
Great location, spacious room, and super comfortable bed!

GermanyThere was a queue for the coffee machine in the morning. Perhaps a second machine would solve this problem. On the second day at breakfast it was broken, the helpful receptionist offered me a coffee from the bar which I found was a nice gesture.
The good position of the hotel.

NetherlandsThe hotel was a little dated. The room was quite small and dusty.
The location was superb. Very central. They were also very responsive via the Booking.com app messaging feature. They informed us which P+R site we could leave our car at in the outskirts of Ghent so we can take a shuttle to the city center. It was very functional.

United KingdomOne bedside light didn't work, one desk top light didn't work. A floor lamp left in one corner of the room unplugged not adequate. At breakfast, drinks machine not working properly. Consequently no cafe lattes available. No toaster so no toast with breakfast.
Staff friendly courteous and professional. Excellent base for exploring the wonderful Ghent. Rooms were extremely comfortable.

PhilippinesThe room we had was quite old but it was not a big issue. Sometimes it seemed like sewer smell came out from the bathroom but not a big issue. Maybe the hotel can look into this.
The location is perfect! Near everything. The breakfast is a feast! Wonderful staff!

GermanyThere was a very strange smell in the staircase. Sauna was closed. The room had carpeted floor, which is unhygenic.
We got a very cozy room with a balcony. The room was in another building with was not a problem. We had a mini fridge and stuff to make coffee or tea, which was great.

RomaniaThe room looked gloomy. There was no AC, only a ventilator. Tea spoons were quite dirty. The elevator was out of order at some point and finding the stairs was a challenge. On the day I left, a hammer drill started working. Should I continue?
The location was perfect, near the most beautiful district of Gent. The facade of the hotel is impressive. Here end unfortunately the good impressions. The bad ones outweigh the others

United KingdomThe room we were in was accessed via very narrow and steep stairs. Fine for us but could be problematic for less able bodied. Ensure to raise at booking if this may be a problem.
Fantastic location, very central, opposite Gravensteen castle. Spacious, clean room, amazingly comfortable mattress. On tram route so easily accessible from the station. Staff efficient and friendly. Room was very warm but on asking they provided me with a fan.

United StatesThere was nobody to help lift suitcases up steps into the main lobby, check-in desk. I found the staff pretty casual, a couple not being able to provide adequate information about paid parking nearby. However, they provided essential services.
The location was perfect, along a tram line, very near the central squares and sites, with restaurants within steps. Others have also said you should ask for a room in the back because the front of the hotel can get noisy at night. Breakfast was quite good.

United KingdomThe hotel was all good the issue is getting to it. The hotel is in the old part of the town, inside the emission control zone and basically a pedestrianised area. this means it has has very restricted car movement and hotel only has a limited number of parking spaces. We parked in a multi story car park about 500m in the drivable zone away and walked (its cobbled so dragging a wheely bag a challenge). Hotel worth it.
Great hotel is in a very central location in a pedestrianised area of the city but in a quiet side street . The staff were always there and and helpful. Breakfast was good.

NetherlandsDe television is outdated. We could not use our chromecast and there was no netflix on it. The lighting didn't do much for the room, it's very white and cold. Would recommend to change the lighting to create a better ambiance.
The location of the hotel is great and the hotel looks very beautiful. Besides, they decorated the room for my boyfriends birthday, which was really thoughtful. Would recommend this hotel! Tip: Parking in the center is expensive, but you can take a free shuttle from Decathlon to the center. This bus goes every 15 minutes.
