Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandNothing. We had a great experience.
Beautiful Hotel located next to the Gravensteen Castle. We stayed in the main building and our room had beautiful high ceilings and big windows with a view of the castle. The staff in the Hotel reception and also in the Breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. We were walking distance to everywhere. My son has recently moved to work in Ghent so will definitely be back to stay in this hotel. We loved it.

United KingdomThis time, nothing. No sewage smell. One thing that I would advise visitors of (and this is not a complaint, just good to know) is Ghent's low emission zone, which is everything inside the ring road. If you are coming in a foreign vehicle (not Belgian or Dutch) you must apply to <https://visit.gent.be/en/low-emission-zone-ghent> to register your car (motorcycles are exempt). The hotel is in the LEZ. It has only about 15 parking spaces and you cannot book them. If you cannot park at the hotel I would recommend parking at 'Parking Ramen' about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Cost there is about 14 euros overnight. The hotel charges 22 euros
Everything This time we had room 22 in the main building. Absolutely lovely room with a view of the castle. I remembered the cooked breakfast option this time. Good breakfast Excellent location

United KingdomIt was a hot night, and the room had no AC. With a big music festival on, it was noisy outside, so the choice was a hot room or noise…BUT the earplugs provided were very effective, and in any other week of the year, the noise outside would have been much less.
Friendly staff, great location and a big, airy, grand room with excellent facilities and a picture-book view of the castle. Dog friendly establishment. Ghent. Just a bloody marvellous vibrant, happy, historic city.

United KingdomThe room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The location by the Gravensteen castle was ideal and only a short walk to the town center. I must also take the time to thank the wonderful receptionists. We were warmly welcomed with beautiful smiles and they went above and beyond to send some luggage to my home when I realised I had left it in the room. I would love to stay here and experience this romantic city again.

United Kingdom1st visit to Ghent, chose hotel because of location. After booking confirmed was emailed parking limited, cannot be reserved and 22 euros a day. May need to.use public parking, 10min walk. Emailed to say booked as limited mobility but still told nothing could be done and they are unable to add this info to booking.com. arrived, lift not working! Room in annex to hotel on 3rd floor. Very basic, had not been cleaned when we arrived and we had to call reception to get housekeeping. There were steps in room down to bed area so I struggle due to mobility. Nothing mention on booking.com. breakfast was until 10am but at 9.55 was being cleared away at 10.00 miserable member of staff made it clear we had to leave

FinlandReseptionists were a bit absent. More green and coloured (ie. vegetables) in the breakfast would be nice. Voices from streets might disturb someone sensitive for noices as the soundproofing is not specially good :)
Nice sized room in the highest floor and nice view over the old town. Easy to reach from train station with tram. Hotel was beautiful, nice breakfast. Cleaning service excellent and kind.

United KingdomAn electric cable to kettle was worn , showing wires and was not long enough to reach plug. Price of breakfast.
Central location but difficult to reach carpark due to extensive works renewing tram lines. Bed was super king size and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good but an extra 18 euros each. Reception personnel were very pleasant and helpful,as we're the dining room staff on 2nd and 3rd morning.
