Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The curtains are quite loud against the railings.
Looks exactly as advertised. Great location. Many amenities and activities available. Overall recommend and would definitely be back again.

Everything was perfect, so nothing to complain about.
Everything was perfect, the children were confortable and the breakfast was super. The family room is big enough for our staying and the bed were really good and confortable. Also the silence (we were on the 6th floor) was good and there is no noise from the people hanging around outside

Wish breakfast was more economically priced.
Great hostel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice location. Would definitely recommend the rooms look just like the photos. Although you're sharing with others the curtains provide privacy.

The lockers that are down the bed a bit uncomfortable, that's the only "negative" I can share...all the rest was perfect!
The location is perfect, very clean and the stuff were very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

Nothing.
Love the spacious room. The female dorm even has a small dressing table. Bathroom and toilet are clean. I also like the minimalist design of the hostel.. and oh, the location is great! Less than 10 min walking to Manneken Pis and Grand Palace.

The only thing I'd change is the shower. Hot water, but not a great water pressure and because I didn't want to wash my hair, I had to shower bending over. Tiny detail that didn't make me regret my decision of choosing Latroupe Grand Place AT ALL.
Overall, a great great experience! Awesome location, 5 minutes walking from Grand Place and near to metro and tram station. Very friendly staff, really confy rooms and a perfectly nice breakfast buffet, with tasty food, including jams, different types of bread, croissants, pancakes, milk, cheese, fruit, yougurt, eggs, etc.

the sink is inside the room without any door. this causes so much noise in the mornings while some brushing teeth and some are still sleeping. Also, they said they have hairdryers at the reception, but they were always in someone else's room. I couldn't dried my hair for 2 days.
Rooms are super comfortable, clean and handy. Loved the toilet and shower being separate. Location is 2 min to grand palace and nightlife. Would stay here again.

The elevator is a little small, but that's just nitpicking.
We had a great stay, the staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful. The hostel feels nothing like a regular hostel, its modern, clean, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. We had a fantastic stay. The hostel is located in the city center.

Locker in the room is too small for my luggage.
Bed with good privacy, there was curtain to remain your privacy. Toilet is in the room, pretty organized.

the shower has a terrible smell, but this is really the only unlike thing i can say about this hostel.
The bed is super comfy, fair breakfast for the region, the location is amazing and the staff is incredible friendly

The bathroom could be more equipped. For example, it didn't have space to put shampoo in.
It was very clean and comfortable. I forgot to checkout and give the key card back, but they were very nice and told me that I can keep the card. Thanks again for the nice stay!

Although the sink in the room looks great and there is point of it as someone can use it while other people are in the toilet or in the shower.. but.. it's disturbing others while sleeping. A bit cold during the night.
Location is great, very kind and helpful staff, cosy ambient, I felt good staying in this hostel, will definitely come back.
