What I loved about the hotel was that it was very clean and quiet, and the staff was very friendly. But the best advantage is that there are plenty of activities to do in the area. It’s centrally located for hiking, exploring nature, walking, visiting the dam, and so much more.

there was no air conditioning in the room and the weather was 32c. so this was the worst thing. and i think the rooms are a bit small.

The hotel was undergoing a renovation and will be even nicer when complete! the proximity to town is perfect just a mile or so. Heavily wooded are and most relaxing

We absolutely loved the location, the view of the river and the hill behind it. The room was most comfortable and the balcony was a definite plus! The staff was most helpful and the breakfast was varied and tasty !

No Wi-Fi or phone reception. No phone in the cabin either so when we had issues we had to get dressed and walk all the way to the main building. Norwegian bath tub took too long to heat up. We only managed to use it after having the log burner on all night. It is set next to a very busy road so you could hear the cars passing by constantly which defeats the point of a nature retreat.

It was clean and the cabin near the river was nicely equipped. Breakfast was delivered to the cabin and it was very tasty with a decent variety of food. The view and the furnishings in the cabin were lovely. The sauna was cosy and with glass floor to ceiling so you can admire the view

There was substantial building works going on at the hotel when we stayed. There was no noise in the evenings, but there was noise by 8am. The entrance and exit ways were sometimes hard to find/blocked. The communal toilets were covered in brick dust one evening.

The food and service in the restaurant was lovely, as was breakfast. The beds were really comfy and the staff were able to provide a cot bed for our son. There was building works, but not in the parts of the hotel used by us (apart from the entrance hall!) so it didn't really affect our stay.

Mobile signal is almost out of reach and so was the free wifi in cabin 3. This is not really a big issue if you go there to relax, but worth keeping in mind if you need to stay connected to the world during your stay. A small semi-roof would be nice over the outside hot bath in rainy season. The logs for the stove to heat up the bath were soaking wet, it was quite challenging to keep the fire alive. The sauna does not actually belongs to the room, it is shared with two other cabin, which was also okay, but better keep in mind if you do not reserve in time you might have to re-schedule your afternoon. It seems to be a lot of negative comment, but it really isn't. The stay in this place is very relaxing and comforting.

The main building is currently under construction, but it did not affect our stay anyhow. The personnel at the reception and at the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very nice, the food were really tasty. The cabin is not far from the main road, but it is still very quiet. The area is very relaxing, nice view to the river and the forest through the large glass wall. Really felt like we are part of the nature. The room was warm and clean. Great breakfast delivered to the room. Plenty of space for parking. The whole place s amazing.

The room had a badly stained chair and carpets. Headboard was very uncomfortable. We were advised shortly before our stay that work in the reception area was being undertaken but when we arrived it was major building work and this should have been clearly stated.

We were told about the building work prior to our stay but after the booking was made, but we were basically staying in a building site. The hotel will be amazing once the work has been completed but on our way to breakfast we had to move stepladders so we could pass, I think the work is far too extensive to enable the hotel to function. We stayed in the outer building which was fine but that also needs updating- the room was dated and the carpet heavily stained, the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied let alone cleaned before our arrival- the hairdryer didn't work, no proper shower just a shower head to hold over yourself in the bath, the toilet roll holder was broken. The man on reception was rude.

The weather prevented us from making use of the extensive grounds surrounding the hotel. At the time of our stay the hotel was undergoing some major renovation work. Although it didn't interfere with our stay or prove to be an issue it did mean that some areas of the hotel were dimly lit.

Room was very spacious with a large modern bathroom separating the main guest bedroom, with a double bed, from a second bedroom containing two singles. The buffet breakfast had plenty of choice and staff were friendly and unobtrusive. There appeared to be plenty of free parking.
