Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe room was more basic than I expected. Then I looked at the price again and did a "ah well, we didn't pay premium". It's honest, but it was a bit basic. If the café and breakfast wouldn't have been there I'd have felt very disappointed.
This is a reasonable low-budgety place with friendly owners, and a very decent breakfast. Location in Ostend is perfectly fine - beach and centre are walkable, station as well. Sitting in the bar you do actually feel in France, also because the playlist is very much classic French songs. And perhaps some Jacques Brel and Angele. Who get played in Paris too.

United KingdomHotel Le Parisien is right in the centre of Oostende so surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. Seafront is two minutes walk and the railway station is less than ten minutes on foot. Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely view over the Groentemarkt. The hotel has an elevator and a nice cafe/bar area by reception, and all of the staff we met were friendly and helpful.

UkraineReally nice small hotel with a perfectly convenient location right in the center of Ostende. Absolutely friendly staff. Probably some renovation could be welcomed but taking into account price/quality ratio, it is great choice for weekend stay

BelgiumThere is some work being done in the area. In the weekend, I didn't really hear a lot; it was more in the week but that's something beyond the control of the hotel. Same with the outside noise after 10 p.m. but luckily when you close the window, you didn't really hear anything so that luckily helped.
I needed a hotel that wasn't too far away from Kursaal Oostende as I was there for vacation but also a concert. Loved the location and it was a good stay. The owner was very friendly and always answered any question you had. The breakfast was very varied and for me it was definitely enough. I would definitely visit again.

NetherlandsBe aware of the open air market that takes place every Thursday and Saturday morning. The market installation starts around 4am, and if you have a room overlooking the Groentenmarkt you will not sleep anymore. Bring earplugs
Conveniently located, clean rooms, courteous staff, and a gorgeous breakfast

IrelandRoom was clean and functional but very dated. The café-bar at street level is shabby-chic, but the decor beyond that is just shabby. We stayed in three cities on our recent trip to Belgium and used identical criteria to search for three city hotels. We paid considerably less for similarly-rated hotels in Bruges and Antwerp than we paid in Ostend, yet the Ostend hotel was by far the shabbiest and poorest-equipped of the three, so I have to score it poorly in terms of value for money.
Pleasant café bar-cum-reception area at street level, where a good breakfast was provided. Good location on a quiet square close to harbour and beachfront. Friendly staff.

United KingdomThe room was small for 2 people. Had twin beds but were so close to each other it was like having a double bed, and not enough room to separate them. The view from the room looks out onto the backs of other buildings, and not nice ones either.
Really central position so very near bars, restaurants and the beach. Basic but clean room. Had a twin room, decent but small. Man who works in the reception / cafe bar was nice and let us check in a few hours early.

United KingdomDuring our stay, there was a fair on the square immediately opposite the hotel which generated rather a lot of noise, although this stopped, as we had been advised, just after 11 pm on the Saturday and after 8 pm on other evenings. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which, while not being an issue for me, might be for some.
The hotel's location was convenient for the station and for the main areas of the town. While not a modern building, the room was very adequate with good basic facilities. The chap on reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very much as you wold expect in a Belgian hotel, with a good selection of breads, cold meat and cheeses and some basic hot food (scrambled egg and lardons).

Belgium- The room we had was a bit small but well organized. - It's an old building and the walls are a bit thin. We had no problems with that as our "room neighbors" were quiet and silent enough, but perhaps it's something to keep in mind
