Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

IrelandThe lockers were big enough to fit the backpack, but the one I used first was loose and broken. The receptionist changed the key and the bed without any fuss. When someone walks around outside, they can hear it well. The location is a bit dodgy but it's within walking distance to a market and the city. There is an excellent traditional restaurant within 5 minutes of walking, Hadjidraganov's kashti, highly recommend
The people were kind, and the prices were reasonable. For 5 euros, you could stay until 3 o'clock. I was allowed to leave my things in the locker room until 10 pm which was very comfortable for me and safe. The beds are comfy, the green light made me more sleepy and relaxed. I was alone in the room the first night. It was nice that, although they had quite a few people, they still put us into different rooms for comfort. Showers and toilets are fine too, you can hang your things. Liked that it was easy to socialise with people but I think it depends on the crowd. The restaurant was within walking distance too Hadjidraganov's kashti. The bus station for flixbus is also about 10-15 minutes within walking distance.

GermanyThere is no chance to block noise of room mates who snore etc., even that the beds are capsules - you have to bring ear plugs to ensure a deep sleep. The room window yields into a neighbouring backyard full of trash, but there is no use to look out of the window anyway, when you just sleep in the room.
Close to the main railway and bus station this stylish hostel is a reasonable option for budget travellers. The tram stop nearby or your feet bring you to the centre, while a supermarket and all necessary shops are just a stone throw away. It is relaxing to hang around at the entrance and chat with the receptionist or zip a beer at the terrace. There is a chance to meet chatty travellers, as still not all are only staring at their mobile phones nowadays ;-)

PolandNo particular issues. Some things could always be improved but it's not a disgrace. Much depends on the guests themselves and their behavior.
Very kind and hospitable receptionists in a pretty fresh building that is well organized. The location is good for commuting around the city. You got all you may expect in such a place and if you understand the pros and cons of sharing space with other people. I think my rating is fair - considering other places. The accommodation conditions comply with the presented offer and it's good value for money. A towel and a locker key are included, which is not obvious in many similar places.

The Location, it was super, especially for the ones who wants to travel to another city, the transport is near, so you can reach the center in about 5 minutes.

United KingdomIt was going to be better if the rooms are soundproof. I could hear heavy walkers, people spitting in the bathrooms while they prep their morning/evening routine. Despite of this I still was able to have decent sleep.
I like the fact that everything was clean. Sheets, towel was brilliant white. Staff very friendly. Rooms equipped with all necessary-lockers, chairs, bin, curtains which provides additional privacy. Visitors can control the main switch from their bedside. Additionally, you can choose what light to use. Despite that I had allocation in a form with 4 beds I was alone up to 21:30, then joined me another lady.

AlgeriaIt was clean, and I asked for a female room and that was provided even though on the booking it doesn’t say whether or not they have gendered rooms. The area was a bit sus, so I’d keep my guards walking around all the time. It’s a 10min walk from the central railway and bus stations. The staff were nice except this one weird guy who was at the reception at night, he kept winking at me which made me somewhat uncomfortable.

BulgariaEasy to get there from central rail/bus stations. it is rather joyful place - the green colour help. The beds were comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Kitchen - not so great, but it is upto the people to take care of it. Staying in the hostel is also very much about who is with you in the room :) For this you just have to hope you are lucky. Overall i would use it again

ItalyHowever, this place seems to be a sort of magnet for people with addictions and personality disorders. This is per se not a complain, but considering that some of them sometimes get involved in disruptive/ unsocial behaviour, the management (not the receptionists) should enforce rules preventing those heavily intoxicated, high or drunk from staying in the hostel. Fyi, my roommate attacked me verbally just because I was snoring and subsequently started yelling histerically after my reply. Nothing too worrying as I'm quite used to sleeping in dorms, just to inform what the unwary traveller may come across.
I always sleep over here whenever I am in Sofia, it's a nice hostel: the housekeepers always make a wonderful job, the staff are very nice, the dorms are very well designed, with good ventilation. Plus, nice location too.

United StatesIt’s not really a social hostel, not at all a “party” hostel. That’s both good and bad. I wouldn’t have minded chatting with other travelers, but, on the other hand, didn’t *have* to chat with other travelers. The surrounding neighborhood is a bit grotty, but it immediately gets better a few blocks away.
It’s clean, well maintained, safe, inexpensive and very close to the train station. Plus, it’s painted in jaunty colors! I liked the curtain on the cube, the electrical outlet conveniently inside the cubes, the safety of having restricted access and a watchful eye at the front.

PolandMale receptionist - very weird and rude guy.
Hostel is in a very nice and convenient location - super close to the train and bus station (15mins walk) plus around 30 mins to the city centre. Everything is very clean and it s very comfortable. The only "bad" thing is some reception staff. There is one guy who doesn't even reply hello or good morning to you🙄 He either doesn't look at you and ignore you completely or he gets annoyed by your presence🫠 Not very "hostely" or hospitable approach I have to say... The crowd is not really a backpackers type neither - it s mostly cheap accommodation for some workers so don't expect to make any friends or so (maybe in the summer it s different but in January that's the feeling).

IndonesiaThere weren't much to unlike, though it's also not the poshest hostel around (although comparing to the other hostels around, probably one of the best. I do think the kitchen should have more towels/napkins supplied, but otherwise as mentioned above, they're well-equipped. The toilets seemed prone to clogging. The pod had this (for me) strange green light mode, which of course can be turned off. The luggage storage is basically just a corner next to the reception, which I personally would have appreciated more if there had been a closed/locked room for that. But otherwise I had a nice time at the hostel.
For me the location was fantastic, really close to the train station, next to a supermarket (though I didn't go to that one), and within a reasonable walking distance from the commercial center of Sofia. The neighborhood was also peaceful and quiet at night. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the pod was well-maintained. The check in was quite straight forward, and the staff were quite helpful. The room had lockers that were separate from the bed, plus a non-lockable drawer under the bed (no need to bring your own padlock) The kitchen was moderately equipped, but clean and well-maintained, better than many hostel kitchens I've seen.

AustraliaThe lack of attention on the toilet and bathroom cleanliness - usually out of toilet paper in the late evening and not replenished till the cleaning schedule in the morning, the showers also smell bad, and toilets could do with wipe down multiple times a day. Bed comfort was ok - could be better. It felt like there’s paper under the sheets. My bed had lots of hair from previous stayers and the dorm needs a through vacuum with hair everywhere.
WiFi was fast, location was not too far from city centre but still quite a walk, bed had sockets and curtain, staff was nice and pleasant, kitchen was well stocked but looks bit messy. There are not lots of eateries close by, so ensure you have fed yourself before going back to the hostel.

United KingdomLockers aren't fit for purpose, not secure as can be opened with a bit of force. Male showers weren't always clean, toilets constantly ran out of toilet paper.

A great New Year's Eve welcome from the lovely staff. Thank you for preparing me a bunk for an 04.00 check in after a late flight. Spotlessly clean hostel near to Central Railway and Bus station. Shared kitchen, showers and toilets. Dedicated side light and charging points. Clean, warm and comfortable dorm with storage box. Thank you for printing my bus ticket. See you again soon 🙂
