Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo negatives to report really, its small and friendly. Most people there are working nearby or are semsible seasoned travellers. Occasionally you get noise from neighbours bit there are plenty signs stressing quiet after 10pm and its normally well respected
Ok folks, this is just a lovely place to stay, small and homely, good beds and a choice of heavy spare blankets and the staff simply cannot do enough for you. Ten Coins Hostels seems a bit self-consciously aware that it's not bang in the middle of town, and puts up various disclaimers to thst effect. But actually it is just a few minutes away and 2 or 3 stops on the Metro - I found it quick and near effortless getting to downtown Sofia. It is also well located by a main road, tram stop, Metro station and a neighbourhood with shops, bars, burher shacks, restaurants plus a couple of useful supermarkets. Though some of it looks a bit 'Societ era) I found it a friendly and pretty safe neighbourhood The rooms were spacious and a bit old fashooned with wooden beds and plenty of hooks to hang stuff plus a verandah onto the street. It isnt cramped and there is a cupboard with plenty spare quilts and blankets if it gets cokd Each of the 2 floors has a full proper kitchen and a good toilet and shower in a spacious bathroom - has washing machines too. I found the staff and owners could not do enough to be helpful and welcoming and I would come here again.

MexicoJust little bit hard mattresses :) no separate shower (cabin or curtain).
Cool staff members, good price for private room, key for 24 entrance included with that room. Air conditioning. Clear information about not perfect conditions, payments, extras. There's extra information in reception for what u will need near from the hostel.

CanadaNothing, really!
Six minutes walk to the Han Kubrat metro station and tram (originating station for no. 7). Functional kitchen, washroom and bedrooms. Quiet environs. Great person staffing the counter - was there to welcome me in beyond closing hours. Good place to stay!

United KingdomNo air con control in the room. Cold water in the showers when showering in the morning. Lockers were located outside the room instead of in it.
Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Homely atmosphere. Comfortable beds.

United StatesThe residents on the third floor were noisy which made it difficult to sleep. I suggest putting hooks, a chair, or a bench in the upstairs bathroom for clothes/toiletries. The pillows need replacing and city and metro maps would be really helpful.
The hostel is in a nice neighborhood with plenty of shops and restaurants and a few minutes walk from the metro. There’s an excellent farmer’s market very close by. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean, the kitchens were stocked, there were washing facilities, plenty of hot water, and the heater worked well when needed. The cats were an added bonus!

FranceFurniture and all facilities are a bit old. Also shower is not so comfortable as you can expect. Location is a bit "outside" of everything.
Staff is very helpful and also speak English. There's everything basic, that you need. But nothing above basic. Free street car parking is 2 min walk from the hotel.

LatviaThere was a terrace next to my room so other floor roommates went there (through our room) in midnight to smoke which wasn't great cause there was no way of getting the smoke out of the room. The reception is from 9:00-21:00, not the best if early flight, but I made it work :)
Very quit place, close to the metro which takes you to the city center, Railway station and bus stop to go to Vitoshe Mountain. ~20min from a kaufland, but overall great location space. First time ever have slept so good, but that's of course because of the good neighbors:)

GermanyAlthough smoking is strictly forbidden and there are signs everywhere, our double room seemed to be used for smoking in the past. The smell of cold smoke is deep inside the furniture.
The location of the hostel is very good. You can reach the metro by foot in 5 min and although the hostel is not located in the city center you can reach the center in 15 min by metro. There are two kitchens which are equiped with everything that you need for basic cooking (no oven!). The stuff is very friendly and always helpful!

BelgiumNot really downsides (at least nothing the hostel can do much about it)
I managed to book a private room where in reality it was a room for 5 people so extra spatious. Each floor level has a shared kitchen and bathroom who are installed very practically. There is also a possibility to do your laundry for a very small fee. The location is also very near to a metro station and to shops so ideal.

United StatesThe hostel is very cute, everything is as described! The volunteers and workers are very helpful and kind. They do a very nice job of keeping things tidy and nice for the guests. It has a kitchen and you can wash one load of clothes at no additional cost. It is a further walk from the city but you can use the subway (which is very reasonably priced) to get anywhere into the city center!

AustraliaThere are small communal areas on each floor but nowhere to really hang our comfortably. We stayed on the top floor and although the room was fine, the stay was very odd. There are long term/permanent? residents living on that same floo who ruined out stay. They smoke in their room and in the shared bathroom so the entire floor smells. They were also quite rude and acted like we had broken into their apartment, giving rude glances. For example the man cooks in the kitchen wearing only underwear on his bottom half. Hoping the hostel sorts this out as it is otherwise a decent place to stay.
We had a decent stay. The hostel has a lot of potential but some things missed the mark. Staff were lovely and cleaned thoroughly every day.
