Saudi ArabiaMy experience at Onyx Rotana fell significantly short of expectations in several key areas. The level of service provided did not justify the high price point, especially when compared to other 5-star establishments. Despite arriving late, I faced a considerable delay in accessing my room, which was not ready until 6:45 PM. To make matters worse, during checkout, a basic service expectation such as providing a luggage trolley was notably absent. This added to the overall inconvenience and left me feeling fully disappointed with my stay.
I liked the kids play zone.

QatarStaff are not cooperative at all , for them every thing is no ( policy and procedure ) , they made me feel I am dealing with a comping not with High end hotel . AC is extremely bad , thermostats not working , either extremely cold or not working , Auto not working . So the value for money is not accepted to get such an experience Reception don’t answer the phones , takes them a lot of time .

QatarTheir system and staff is not up to standard of a 5* hotel. It was overbooked and they moved us at 1am to a sub-standard 4* service apartment in the middle of nowhere and still expected us to pay the full price of our booking using booking.com as an excuse. Their night manager Kamal was a nightmare and extremely unprofessional. We booked in advance on booking.com and the hotel took a 150 BD - $410 USD charge from us before our arrival. Upon us calling, they confirmed that this is part of their cancellation policy and on the same call we let them know we will be arriving at midnight due to our late flight. They noted this and confirmed our booking. However, once we arrived at the hotel, they told us to wait on the side. After 15 minutes we enquired what was going on, the nightmanager Kamal proceeded to ask us to move to the side to let us know that the hotel was overbooked and that they had to move us to another hotel for the night. He “moved us” away from the reception desk and this whole conversation happened in the middle of the hotel lobby. He didn’t offer us a seat or any beverages while we waited. Kamal affirmed that the other hotel was another 5* hotel in the same area, and told us he will book the hotel car to take us there. This was completely false as the hotel was a 4* substandard service apartment that was almost a 15-20 minute drive from the Onyx Rotana, which is quite far for Bahrain. He did not book the hotel car for us, and instead ordered us an uber and did not tell the uber driver the location. The uber enquired us for the location instead, which we ofcourse did not know and I had to google it for him and lead the way in a country I have never been to. We enquired about a refund or a reduction in price which Kamal refused to assist with and disregarded our enquiry telling us that we can deal with it the next day with the morning staff.
It is built well. High standard furniture and finishings.

Saudi ArabiaFood wasn’t very good the only thing that was amazing was the fries and mixed grill and the Cesar salad but everything else was bad Chicken burger was toooo oily Onion soup was watery and not like any other onion soup I’ve ever had before Roasted chicken was very dry Lobster ravioli the sauce was good but the pasta tasted weird Moroccan tea tasted nothing like Moroccan tea “we’re Tunisian so we know” Cappuccino was too bad I don’t know if it’s the milk or the coffee beans that was bad. Breakfast time I didn’t see any staff that can make an omelet or pancakes After 9 am it’s too crowded lots of kids screaming and I asked 3 times for a coffee and had to leave without it because I was waiting for so long and had a headache from all the screaming!
I loved the room , the view and ESPECIALLY the gym it was the best hotel gym I’ve ever experienced

Saudi ArabiaLobby was super busy and cluttered, we waited until 6 PM to check in, and when we checked in the room was obviously not cleaned well as the housekeeper was still inside, floors were wet, toilets smelled bad and not cleaned properly, the elevators wait time was crazy and even when an elevator arrived most commonly it will be busy. We needed an extra blanket at night , kept trying to call reception and housekeeping for 1 hour with busy line , and when we received an answer we kept waiting to get the blanket for 30 minutes. It was a bad experience , I was planning for a trip with my mom but it was disappointing

Saudi ArabiaI am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The check-in process was excruciatingly slow, lasting more than half an hour. Furthermore, the staff took an eternity to bring my luggage from my car, andto make matters worse, they didn't bring all ofit. I had to retrieve the rest of my luggage myself, which was incredibly frustrating. At night, I called room service to order waterand towels, and it took two hours for them to be delivered. On top of that, there was loud music playing late into the night, making itimpossible for me to sleep. When I tried to call the front desk to address the noise, no one picked up the phone. During checkout, I called room service to collect my luggage, but once again, my calls went unanswered. I had to take my luggage myself. This level of unresponsiveness andpoor service is completely unacceptable.
