Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe tent was clean though we had a lot of ants inside. The trips they organize are overrated, though the guide was very nice and competent. The payment on site was very difficult because of lack of a proper cell network.
It‘s a peaceful and nice place to arrive and settle in.

South AfricaIf the credit card machine is not working, there should be applicable exchange rates for foreign currency for the staff. The lady was helpless. So we checked the rates on internet and we’re paying accordingly. Next morning the lady came back and said, that we have to pay more -as ‚the office‘ calculated with another exchange rate….. not very professional

GermanyThe lodge gave us unprecise directions to the lodge. It is hard to find the way (we drove around Maun for an hour). Also the comment "a sedan will struggle to get to the lodge" is incorrect. It is NOT a gravel road, but a sand road. And a sedan will most likely get stuck. Better and clear directions will make life easier for the guests.
The location is very nice. Also the day excursion into Moremi is excellent.

PolandI have bittersweet feelings and it's really hard for me to rate this stay. During the overnight stay, part of our group was robbed (someone cut the tent right in the place where phones were charging, there was cash, passports, etc.). I understand that such situations happen, but unfortunately after returning to Poland it turned out that we couldn't count on any compensation from either the insurer or the owner - we got information that the thieves had been caught and that was it. That's why I don't really know how to evaluate it - on the one hand it was ok, but on the other this unpleasant situation cast a shadow over the entire stay. I'm sorry that the owner didn't show any willingness to cooperate/some compensation or even a discount on future stays - it would have been a nice gesture, but it was a lack of understanding on his part. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to this place, it's a pity.

South AfricaThe accommodation was lovely, but completely misrepresented on the website. There are images of animals, water, game drives and such the like, making the lodge appear as if it is on a river (which it is but it was dry and largely domesticated - goats, cattle etc). On arrival we were informed that we would have to take game drives at $300 and that it was a 2.5 hour to Moremi. For heavens sake please get a new piece of glass for your table! You can order from PG glass in Maun.
The staff were great and the place adequate.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything I didn't like!
Staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Loved the variety of home cooked food and the chef telling us what we were eating every evening. Tents were cleaned every day. Day trips were conducted by professional guides. Loved the hot water showers and hot water bottles in bed every evening. An unforgettable experience.

TaiwanIt would be nice with aircon, but the staff was really nice in helping out with extra fans and extension cords.
We absolutely loved the camp and the staff was super helpful, from offering us another fan, and extension cord to run it from a different area in the room, to assisting us to the max when we lost our number plate. They went above and beyond in helping us out. The pool is great!

South AfricaThey make use of the raw water from the river. They don't have a manager on-site to attend to queries. They don't take accountability. Instead, you'll be referred to a particular individual by the name of "Nedine Myburg." Who's based in South Africa and can only assit on "Whatsapp chats". How absurd is that?! There's false marketing as there is no Spa place. On a hot sunny day, you can't even take a swim as the pool is filthy dirty as if it's a pigsty.
Could they reimburse my money that's all. The horrific experience forced me to check-out earlier and find an alternative stay.

South AfricaThe rooms were OVER RUN by ants. To the point you could not leave anything on the floor including your luggage. You could not even sit on a chair with your feet on the floor. The shower either burnt the skin off your body or was ice cold. You cannot use a mixer tap with Gas. There was only one plug provided in the room which is below standard, even the most basic accommodation provides 2 plug points. The fan which was at the only plug is right next to your face, ie 20cm. Therefore if you want it on full because it is so hot, the person sleeping on that side must except strong wind into their face all night. The beer we were served was expired in 2022, when we asked for a non expired beer they didn't have any cold ones. This to me was completely unacceptable and below standard for what you are paying. Only one flask of water is provided for your stay. The food was exceptionally average. There was barely enough to feed everyone and given they force everyone to sit together at one table (even though you would prefer a romantic night with your partner) it was very awkward when the food started running out and they did not offer more food. We were suppose to have stayed 4 nights but decided to leave after the first night as the place was completely sub standard. The cost is extravagant for what you get. If it was cheaper it would be justified.
The staff were excellent and friendly, I could not fault them. They tried their best in everyway

United Arab EmiratesWe were welcomed by staff Hanna. Very arrogant, rude, unapproachable. After telling her that our car broke down and we were several hours late for the check-in at the lodge, we had no empathy or courtesy from her side and she simply handed two welcome drinks to us without saying a word. During dinner, again Hanna welcomed us with an unapproachable demeanor and asked us what do we want to drink in a very disrespectful manner as if we were staying in a Backpackers lodge. When asked for wine, she simply said “white or red?” and served us some average red wine without even asking if we had any preference for the country/region/grape. An absolutely horrible dinner experience due to staff Hanna. During breakfast, we were welcomed by the female Chef and she was extremely warm and welcoming, preparing a wonderful omelette for us (thank you). Overall it has potential but it needs appropriate staff to make it worth spending this amount of money. I would recommend with different staff with proper manners and training welcoming guests.
Beautifully located property by the Boteti River with River views. New and comfortable tents with outdoor showers and comfortable bed and high-quality bed linen. Very pleasant mokoro (canoo) ride in the river.

United StatesI loved the outdoor showers and layout of rooms. The use of local materials and attention to detail from staff was a plus. The hotel arranged various excursions for us including a trip to Moremi and an early morning boat ride including amazing Mokoro trip l. The team is from the local community and works through their indigenous people network to make your experience authentic..our Motemi guide was an experienced tour guide and tracker and we saw both a cheetah and leopard and learned a lot about animal behavior and conservation efforts led by Khwai area communities.
