Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaApartment design was very 'modern' and practicality and comfort seemed to be lesser considerations to 'design vibe'. Hence always trying to work out lighting, how to comfortably watch TV, coffee cups too small for tea drinkers, handbasin set in middle of room etc etc. The check in and registration procedure is probably the most complicated I have come across in 50 years of travel.
The apartment was modern, reasonably well appointed and spacious. Great location, walking distance to everything in Old Town and parts of New Town. Bed was large and comfortable.

United StatesThe only a few minor complaints, is that the towels were a little thin. There were lots of towels but not too plush. Also, there wasn't a mirror near the sink. It was across the room: not conducive for shaving (men) or makeup (women).
This apartment was HUGE. Great combination of old and modern: Old stone walls, modern appointments.... shower, bathroom, kitchen, bed, TV, washer/dryer, finishes. It was well-located just a short walk from Rue St. Paul with loads of great restaurants and shops. It was also located far enough so there wasn't any street noise. The thick, granite walls helped, too!

AustraliaCheck in was a bit glitchy, we had been on a cruise for the week before arriving with extremely limited wifi, and and similarly through the day, so it was difficult getting the code. thankfully we had friends checking in at the same time, so were able to make contact from their room. Others were still on the street at 3:15 struggling to establish contact.
The well stocked kitchen, with all the utensils necessary to cook a meal. as well as the basics such as olive oil. so it was easy to walk around the corner to the Gourmet Delicatessen to get ingredients with which to cook a meal for ourselves and a couple of friends

CanadaDavid is very modern and hip in a grey way, (which seems to have been the defining colour of the last 8 years) but perhaps too much grey. The bench seat at the end of the foam-top bed is upholetered in a salmon colour which could have effectively been used as the colour for the curtains to bring a little more liveliness to the atmosphere. The rooms are equipped with high-end appliances including two refrigerator drawers and rwo freezer drawers in each room. The shower stall is 3/4 glassed in and offers a choice of rainfall head or adjustable spray pattern head and good hot water. My only complaint is th at there is no closure for the stall which guarantees a wet floor each time it is used. If you wish to cook, lots of utensils, dishes and gadgets are in supply, but there is no chef's knife. As well, there is a nespresso machine - good - but for a 4 night stay for two, only 4 caffee pods were supplied. Perhaps this is nitpicking, but David, as everyone knows, is not inexpensive. One particularly bright , positive note was sung by Mary, one of the attendant/managers on duty there to address any needs or concerns one might have; unfortunately on weekends there seems to be no-one on duty. All told, David makes a valiant effort at affording something upbeat, yet homey, and mostly succeeds - and the location is superb!

Modern, simplistic, clean studio at heart of Montreal. Conveniently located in Old Port, steps away from historical landmarks, make it very easy to explore on foot. Location has BIXI bike share nearby, allow easy connection to other neighborhoods and explore Montreal on bike using the vast biking network. Studio has a full kitchen and washer/dryer, great add-on compare to typical hotel. Nespresso machine was a plus!

CanadaThere isn’t one thing I didn’t like! Stay here!!
I absolutely LOVED staying here! I plan to keep coming back. The lobby smells AMAZING when you walk in, the rooms are unbelievably clean. The dish soap, hand soap, shampoo etc smell soooo luxury! The check in is very easy and smooth, I felt really secure and safe. The staff is absolutely amazing, they were very accommodating. I wanted to stay another night and they helped me very quickly! The location of the hotel is in the most perfect spot, close to a lot of places! It’s also very quiet here! I will be returning asap!!

Malaysia1) Virtual lobby with no actual human interaction needs getting used to. Miss the human contact. The fact that this place is run by a virtual lobby should be made known so that people will know what to expect. It was not mentioned on the booking site that this is not a conventional hotel with people to greet you when you arrive. 2) The boarding pass (instructions to enter premises and a whole lot of other useful information about staying at the Loft) are provided only 24 hours before check in. This results in difficulty for people who are travelling from far away places and have started travelling more than 24 hours ago. Perhaps for cases like this, you can provide boarding pass earlier 3) Related to item 2, this also requires that the person checking in has an active phone line or internet access when they arrive in Montreal/ premises. If the person has problems having an active phone line, then the person is stuck outside and not able to get into the premises because of no access to details in the boarding pass. 4) For those with no local line, perhaps it will be more economical to make a Whatsapp call or communicate with the management via Whatsapp. Doing a voice call takes up a lot of credit and therefore you will run out of credit really fast. 5) Prior to check in, need to ensure that all things offered are in working condition. My luggage frame holder was broken and also the shower knob kept falling out.
The apartment was very cozy and clean. It was fully equipped with every possible utensil you can think of. Thoughtfully prepared with both the dishwasher soap and also detergent to wash clothes. All other basic amenities provided by hotels were there as well. Availability of Alexa and Netflix definitely surpassed my expectations. I had problems trying to enter premises due to item 2 and 3 below, but after I called up the virtual lobby, the person was so helpful and stayed on the line with me until I entered my Loft and unfortunately I ran out of credit to thank her properly for being so helpful. The person manning the phone line is very responsive and patient.
