The only complaint was the bright outside lights prevented my wife from a good night's sleep. The lights are great for safety and security, but room-darkening blinds would be helpful.

Fantastic location. The restaurant was exceptional with great seafood along with live entertainment and wonderful service. We had one of the best nights on our recent 3 week trip to Canada and Maine at the North Star.

only night stands to store any of your luggage and no luggage rack so lots of bending and opening suitcases. no closet but a tiny place in an open cabinet to hang few things. bring your own paper towels if you’re cooking. limited serving dinner ware

Hosts and staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food offered and the Bothy and for breakfast is exceptional. We enjoyed the live entertainment Friday night. The location is directly across from the fortress which is a must visit. We would go out of our way to visit here again.

Can’t think of anything to improve.

Our room was beautiful and super clean. The view from the bed was through a sliding glass door to the ocean. The kitchenette was well stocked if we had wanted to cook. Coffee to brew and tea were in the room. The interior decor was tasteful and modern. We ate at the onsite restaurant for dinner, which was superb. We had breakfast in the morning in the onsite cafe and it was tasty, well prepared, and plentiful. The owners were friendly and attentive. All the staff were polite and helpful.

The food was absolutely magnificent and so was the personnel: everyone was genuinely welcoming and dedicated to contribute to the best experience of their guests. Very clean room, cozy and thought through European design. Just a personal note: in the evening there is a bit too much light on the side of the main building that faces the ocean - makes it less comfortable to enjoy the view/evening outside. Not all rooms have the balcony, so it makes sense to ask for one on the second floor if you're looking for more privacy. Overall an amazing place to stay.

Lovely room ..spacious and well appointed. Very close to Louisbourg Fortress. Nice restaurant on site, but book ahead as it gets busy. We didnt book a room with seaview, which turned out fine, as it was very foggy. We asked for the 2nd floor which afforded a better view, but be prepared for steep steps. Would recommend.

The area is often foggy, but this has nothing to do with the property.

Nice place, managed by a well-known couple of Scottish interior designers who spent almost two decades in Toronto. After visiting the nearby fortress in Louisburg, we realized how many ‘local’ elements have been integrated into the remodelling of the property.

Would have loved if facilities had a fire pit or natural gas fire table to sit around in the evenings by the ocean.
