Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaHadn’t stayed here in 20 something years. Was just a serene and beautiful as I remember. We will return much sooner this time. My 4 year old and I swam in the the lake and we all danced on the stage at the amphitheater.

CanadaThe common kitchen could do with a refit and restock (e.g. new spoons and bowls). And its a shame that the cookers are no longer usable by guests. The tent we stayed in on the first night was too close to the road and so quite noisy.
Magical location, cozy glamping tents, delicious Italian food at the restaurant, paddle boarding and swimming in the lake.

CanadaThe map of the area given on arrival needs to be updated. A lot of facilities labeled on the map didn't exist, i.e., Spa and Labyrinth.
The location was stunning.

Canadalove everything about our stay except that we had no power on day 1 due to our neighbours breaking the breaker. The tents are not equipped with warm comforters which is fine in the shoulder season if you have the heater on but otherwise freezing.

CanadaIn September the room got cold and an extra blanket or a working fireplace would have been useful. Dinner at the restaurant was disappointing - a pricey but mediocre meal. Theres no where else to get a cooked meal closeby so check with staff about cooking because fires are banned.
Quirky accommodation with homemade bed and chair in a tent overlooking the lagoon Very peaceful until the coyotes howled and the ? racoons or bears ? set off my car alarm at 4am !! Lovely spot and great for a wilderness experience. Get out on the water if you can.

CanadaI stayed on the tent number 5, it was to far from the washrooms. I would like to suggest to have just simple toilet in the middle of path in case of emergency during at night since it is a resort.
Quiet place

CanadaI thin k it may feel a little "run down" for some people's standards but that really didn't matter to us. A few things needed attention but the staff were lovely and friendly so that more than made up for it.
We had a lovely autumn stay at Ruby Lake Resort. It suited our family who usually camp, so we loved being in nature, watching the ducks and finding horse chestnuts to play with. There is plenty to do for a nature based holiday without having to leave the property, lovely walks, swimming, trees to climb and ponds to explore.

CanadaNo breakfast, the Americano my friend had at dinner looked delicious, I was wishing for one in the morning.
The cottage was on a lagoon teeming with bird life, so beautiful and peaceful. The restaurant was delicious and the hike recommended by the lovely Aberdonian that welcomed us was stunning.

United StatesNothing bad to say … glamping tent started out warm but when we asked they immediately brought us a fan and temperature was quickly perfect
Quiet beautiful location with excellent restaurant on grounds, our 2 1/2 year old dog loved the look of the lake so much he ran in and started swimming for the first time … as we were leaving thought I saw a beaver in the lagoon so parked for a quick picture - got back to find keys locked in van in very remote location but owner Aldo to the rescue used his fishing pole to snag our keys and rescue us …

CanadaMy tent was right next to the highway so during the hours that there was traffic (starting from the first ferry) it was noisy. Wasn’t very clean. Washroom facilities were old. There wasn’t a toilet right near me, as the woman who checked me in said. There wasn’t a small fridge like the website said. I was never asked or offered anything. While I do appreciate my privacy and tranquility, I am quite sure that I was completely ignored due the anniversary party happening the day I left. As there was only one other couple staying in that entire section of the resort, I feel that they might have put me, at the very least, in one of tents closer to the washrooms that may have even had a view. It was a ghost town and they would have had to clean my room for another guest either way. They might have made a return visitor who would have given them a positive review. The restaurant had good food but i felt it was overpriced and I eat out quite a bit in BC and on further travels and, the second night, my waitress was dismissive to the point of rude.
Location is nice.

CanadaIt was a 10 minute walk to the lake and we have young kids and paddleboards so we had to drive every time. The kitchen was poorly equipped, no stove, coffee maker was broken, no BBQ. A bunch of the outlets weren’t working, including the one that the main fridge was plugged into. My husband fixed this and then he also unplugged the three bathroom sinks that weren’t draining. No one enforced quiet time so there was noise until 1am. The website should be clear about the long walk, the limited kitchen facilities and the property map would be helpful so guests can plan accordingly. Also, please provide ice to your guests in the summer. The ice machine is there and when we asked about ice, we were told it’s only for special occasions. You know what’s a special occasion? The trips your guests make to stay at your resort.
The grounds were interesting and whimsical. The family tent was clean.

CanadaThere were several staff members very noisy in the picnic area across from our room at 2:00 am. The area had a sign indicating quiet time after 11:00 pm. The property was not on the lake, you had to cross a highway to get to the lake. There was no coffee creamer in the room only sugar.
The room was nice and clean.
