Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaI found the room was pretty banged up. the molding in the bathroom was all chipping and the shower needs to be re siliconed. The sliding glass door didn't seal well which caused a draft and lots of street noise. The sliding glass door/window was very dirty, not nice to look through. the hallways were dirty and needed a vacuum. garbage cans in the hallway were not emptied from the night before (full of beer cans and wine bottles). also the pool room was not cleaned or refreshed when we went for a swim at 9am. no clean towels. Just a heap of used ones plus another over flowing garbage can in there aswell...more beer cans and food garbage.
The lobby and sitting area was beautiful also the beds were comfortable

United KingdomSigns in car park suggestion fee of $30. Not apparent until we went in to the hotel that the car parking was complementary. I did get the money refunded but it took a couple of days and a bit of inconvenience going back and forth. Real issue however was the noise from the train that arrived circa 3am. Noise in it arriving and the shutting back and forth. If wanting a good nights sleep, ear plugs or only stay if at the front of the hotel.
The hotel was fine, room comfortable, no food option but was able to eat at Moxies, next to the hotel.

CanadaStaff failed to inform us that housekeeping was only on request, so was surprised when we returned to our room in the evening that it hadn’t been cleaned. Front desk did apologize and gave us a Moxies gift card.

United KingdomCity view room picked up noise from the trains through the night. We had emailed to upgrade to riverside views but to no avail and no response. Our Group had 3 rooms one of which was separated from the others - never understand this when you’re booking 6 months in advance. Double room for 2 people yet only 1 robe (policy it seems).

CanadaUnfortunately this hotel is located right beside a very busy train track. Our room was on the side of the tracks and I couldn't believe how often trains were going by and all night - felt non-stop - there was so much noise and we could even feel the vibrations in our bed! Too bad because we loved everything else about this hotel.
This is a very comfortable hotel and worked well for a mid-journey stop for us. Nice having a couple of restaurant options on the property. Also, nice location for going for a walk in the nearby park or easy access to downtown Kamloops.

United KingdomThe location and the noise from the railway. The bedroom looked over the railway and the trains in Canada are exceptionally long freight trains that can keep you waiting 20/30 mins for it to go past. They also sound the bell and it’s relentlessly this goes on during the night, this is also next to a railway crossing. The room provides a white noise device but that kept us awake we had to unplug it. So we did not get good sleep at the hotel
The food in the restaurant Moxys was very good and the staff there very helpful. The room was a good size and so was the kitchen. It would have helped to have some more cooking items though.

AustraliaRestaurant on site was limited, service very slow for dinner, and worse still, didn't serve breakfast. We were not aware of this when we booked as we didn't need breakfast on the first stay. Regarding breakfast, the staff member on the front desk from whom we asked for help gave us no options or clarity, and didn't seem to care, :-( We ended up going to the Hotel we had initially booked a 10 min walk away where we had a lovely breakfast and received great service.
We were given an upgraded room facing the river that was very nice and we really appreciated this - we booked the Sandman after we had enjoyed staying overnight there on the way to Banff, organised by Rocky Mountaineer. Unfortunately, this helpful and proactive staff member wasn't on duty again to assist when we needed advice.

IrelandOur room was on the same level of the car park so not only was it noisy from the freight trains, we also had noise from the cars which was not ideal with two small children so if you are a light sleeper yourself or some one in your family is I would probably pick a different location.
The pool was great especially because it was so hot outside (heat warnings in place) so it was a great edition to entertain the children. Staff were friendly and lovely and there is an ice cream store next door which was amazing.

CanadaThe corridor and elevator weren't clean enough. Additionally, being near the train station, the noise of the trains was quite annoying.
We had reserved a room with a city view but had requested a sea view room. Since none were available, the receptionist offered us a big suite instead.
