Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis hostel was definitely one of the top hostels I have stayed in. I stayed in a 6 bed female dorm, each bunk had their own lamp, mini shelf, charging point, hooks on the bunks, extra hooks near the door, on the sides of the 'lockers', each bunk also had a locker you can bring your own padlock for. The room also had a mini sink and a mirror. The kitchen was large and had plenty of equipment to use for everyone. 10-15minute walk into the main downtown area and a few minutes walk to the info centre. Coffee in the morning for everyone to have was a really nice touch. The main bathroom with showers and toilets was always clean.

SingaporeThis is a great hostel with super cosy vibes. The staff was amazing and very friendly. There is one bathroom in the room but also a communal one in the hallways that was always clean and always available when I was there. No need to fight for showers! Communal kitchen and “lobby” was great to meet people too.

CanadaLove the place but a couple of things to know: Bed are not comfortable in the hotel like room (unless you're into super firm, plank-like mattress, then you'll like it). The bathroom could use a new shower head, but it works, albeit it's a hostel so expect what you pay for. Otherwise the rest is great, well equipped kitchen, clean and smiling faces everywhere.

CanadaThe only complaint I had was that I was allotted a very small space in the fridge and cabinet to store my food. Other shelves were empty but I couldn't put my stuff there.
The stay was excellent! Good location, courteous staff, clean rooms, pretty quiet at night. I'll definitely come back!

BangladeshWe absolutely loved our stay at Squamish Adventure Inn & Hostel! We booked a double bed with a private bathroom during the holiday season, and everything exceeded our expectations. The services were excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The hostel has a cozy vibe with great amenities, including a room perfect for Netflix and chilling, a well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable dining area. They even have a designated smoking zone and play beautiful music, adding to the relaxed atmosphere.

CanadaFriendly staff, clean room. Exactly what we were looking for - a clean, comfortable overnight stay over Christmas and the family home was too full. We only needed the rooms - they served as an add-on to the family home.

CanadaThe mattress on the dorm bunk was very hard! There is only one USB port with your light at your bunk. The little shelf that is with the light and USB port is very small and when I rolled over in the night I accidently hit it and everything on the shelf went crashing down to the bunk below. Maybe a better shelf and a few more plugs would be beneficial. Other negative reviews I read before booking seem to be from people that didnt know they were booking in a hostel. This may be because of the way they market their "private hotel-like rooms" which some are just a room within the dorm room. You are still sharing a bathroom with everyone else and the walls are pretty thin. Some people are inconsiderate about noise etc. so go prepared.... bring ear plugs and an eye mask ;) All in all - was very satisfied with my stay and experience based on other hostel stays.
A lot of the reviews I read before booking seem to be complaints about normal hostel settings. The common spaces were great! You have a choice between the lounge/living room area that is nice and comfy. Then there is the dinning/eating area near the kitchen. Then there is a TV room. The kitchen is well equipped and organized. Loved the storage bins with the rooms/beds so your supplies didnt get lost or taken. Location was great right in the middle of Squamish and easy access to amenities and activities.

AustraliaThis is a very nice hostel in the cute town of Squamish. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms with a double bed and bathroom. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. We had a nice stay. It was also very quiet, so we slept well.

United KingdomWe were next to the kitchen and it was a bit noisy, even after the quiet ime (10pm). Suggest you request a room other than room 1 if booking hotel rooms.
