The bathroom was small, with no counter space and a very slow draining sink. Also, no microwave in the room made in inconvenient to warmup things! The loading zone is cumbersome and not efficient.

Only stayed one night, but the staff was wonderful and the room very quiet.

An amazing, wonderful facility that hearkens to a golden age - sadly brought low by Marriott

The fact that Marriott outsources its restaurant table bookings is appalling, complicated, and manifestly unsatisfying. The electronic greetings that were emailed led to a generic Marriott site and did NOT enhance the sense that we were anything more than a transactional afterthought. Frankly, Marriott should invest in a personalized electronic experience - it's not as if this feature does not exist and is used by many. many hotels. What a turn off. No electronic experience would be better than that which we received.

The room and facilities were lovely, verging on sumptuous

There was limited space in the restaurant and you had to book ahead. They advise you to do so, but it's simply not a big enough restaurant for the size of the hotel. I took my dinners in the lounge area outside the restaurant, which was okay and probably safer in terms of COVID. The only suggestion I have for the hotel to actually change though, is to flip the mattresses in the rooms. There was only one side table in my room, so I assume that other guests did what I did which was to sleep on the side of the bed near the side table. Consequently, the mattress had a bit of a downward slope on that side. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable. It would also be great if a small side table could be placed on the other side of the bed.

I loved the overall ambience of the place, especially the terrace overlooking the grounds with the pool and the sea beyond, where you could get food and drink. My room was lovely too, with a beautiful view. The other great feature is the free shuttle - that was amazing. And I would be remiss if I didn't say that the staff were exceptionally friendly and willing to help.

1)The resort needs too be more explicit when offering :premium package. I only spent one night yet payed for a package that is offered to people staying longer. Will be smarter next time.

Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Room was very clean and amenities were there. Food was good overall.

    Wonderful village, lovely hotel!

Slow and short-staffed. The restaurant Braxton was not worth it: overhyped and with few choices. Expensive and rather tasteless. Not even a decent post dinner cappuccino. We were better off at the Whale pub downstairs, with more choices, better prices and fun music. At this point, only open Friday-Sat-Sunday. The breakfast buffet was great if you can afford the at $25 Canadian. Choices in town are also available. Should not have to ask for new bottle of gel in shower/non slid bath mat (we had to buy our own) and more water in shower than the trickle we had. The housekeeping is spotty. We had to call almost every day to get our room serviced. Towels were regularly not replaced and we wondered why the box of Kleenex disappeared. One phone call to front desk solved it all.

Short-staffed! Everywhere in the resort. Be ready to haul your own luggage (they will lend you a cart). They do their best and we are all grateful for that. Note that the village’s restaurants are closed Mondays AND Tuesdays. The 2 that are open are mobbed. Time your travel well. Lovely setting. Devoted to well behaved dogs of all shapes and sizes. Minnie was the star: a 160 lbs Newfie, all love and sweetness. The hotel keeps an open piano and guitar for guests to enjoy. The hotel construction reminds of the Del in San Diego. The coastal village of St Andrews reminds of Bar Harbor. Nice people everywhere. Nice queen room: roomy and view of water over the tree line. This is NOT a sea front property. We had room 433. Great wifi: get on it once and that’s it. Part of Autograph collection of Marriott: sign in once and you’re signed up for all their properties. Despite shortage of staff, we will be back.

Long waiting time at reception, and too small restaurant capacity compared to number of rooms and guests.

Great location in St Andrews, beautiful building with very large rooms and great amenities, 2 pools, spa and water tube. During our stay numerous activities around/in the hotel were proposed which was great for our kids.

Understandably affected by Covid, staff young and lacking experience although eager to please. Common areas, particularly terrace, needed a good cleaning. Outdoor glass tables smeared when wiped, a thorough sweep would have improved terrace. very expensive for 2 star service.

There was a broken drawer on the dresser in the room. I was rather surprised to see something like that considering the attention paid to overall decor. The dinner I chose was very disappointing. In fact, after a couple of taste tests, I left the main course behind and only ate the salad. I had anticipated a meal that would be as exquisite as the hotel itself and was very let down.

Hotel and grounds were lovely - like an old world elegant hotel. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast buffet held quite a variety and was delicious. The room was very attractive and comfortable.
