Very very nice location. The snow on the path was packed by a snow mobile so walkable. Not really recommended though if you are carrying luggage. They can also arrange for you to be picked up at the next train station. The one that is closest to the hotel is a 600m walk, but uphill and with snow was a bit challenging. (I'm telling myself I was so out of breath because of the altitude) The hotel has a rustic charm, the staff was nice. The radiator didn't get too warm, they should maybe bleed the radiators and let the air out. When I came to the restaurant for dinner & breakfast they sort of directed me upon entry to a solo table. I found that a bit too strict, it took away the possibility of joining a table or other people to share a meal with in this very shareable environment. Woke up in the middle of the night to gaze on the moonlit mountains. It was wonderful!

The staff is excellent and the restaurant amazing. Rooms are simple but clean, excellent location for outdoor activities. Train station is also close by (10/15min walk) for people coming by train. Free outdoor parking for cars. Great scenery in winter.

The problem with the hotel is that in winter there is no way to go from the nearest station. And if someone does not have a mobile phone, they will die of cold and will not be able to reach the hotel. If you call the hotel, they will tell you to go 2 stations ahead. Then the hotel will take you, but before 6 pm.

Room was very clean and since we left the hotel the first morning at 5 we received a lunch package which was EXCELLENT. We had breakfast on our second morning and the choice was amazingly good - we loved it and can recommend it!!!

A very beautiful hotel with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The room was spacious with a comfortable mattress. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the dinner was absolutely delicious!

The path up from the railway station doesn't get any easier as I become older - but slowly, slowly I get up to this gem of an hotel.

Very nice room with a lovely view of the mountains around the pass, and the bed was really comfortable. I enjoyed my dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

Absolutely nothing. Loved everything about the hotel.

Situated at 2300 metres above sea level at the top of the Bernina Pass, and overlooking a lake and glacier, the hotel is in a truly spectacular location. The hotel itself describes its rooms as being furnished in a rustic and essential style which was true of the room we had. The room was perfectly adequate with a comfy bed, ensuite bathroom, wardrobe, desk and tea/coffee making facilities, but it doesn’t come in the luxury category. The food was really excellent. The a la carte menu featured local produce and regional dishes – we had roe deer and chamois dishes which were cooked really well and made for a truly delicious meal, but was not cheap. There is also a pizza menu for people who do not want to spend as much on food. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. I can't wait to return!

The location is exceptionally good. You are in the middle of the Bernina area. You sleep peacefully and the view is unique. The price-performance ratio is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I was there for the third time and will be back.

It is in a remote and interesting location, but unfortunately also close to a main road. Still quite good for a one night stay. Professional run, with a decent breakfast.

What a crazy idea to hang a lamp so low that you bump into it every time you move around in the small room (205) unless you remember to navigate around it.

The accessibility by train (interrailing is a bargain in Switzerland) to this unique setting. But bear in mind that there Is an uphill road of a few hundred meters from the station. The postal bus stops right at the hotel.
