Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Outside Geneva station is pretty noisy so I was pleased to get a deluxe single facing out the back which was relatively peaceful and had the morning sun coming in. Reception staff were fine. The room and bed were comfy, with shower over bath. There is a mini fridge and kettle. Very convenient location for catching trams around the city. The Britannia pub downstairs had surprisingly tasty food, although if you want to sit inside you should really like football, it is blaring out from multiple TVs.

The location is really great. Close to Geneva main station, and accessable to any public transports. So many shops and restaurants are around, just a walking distance. The reception, Mr. Muhammad Khan, is really kind and helpful.

Gentleman on reception was very helpful and gave me an adapter to use as mine didn't work. Across the street from the station and minutes walk into town. Room was spacious although a little dated. Pub next door is cosy with a large menu

Its nearness to the train station is a plus. Fast travel from airport to room. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and great windows that allow you to shut out train noise. Only drawback is somewhat weak, but functional wifi. Overall, great value. I'll stay again!

Bathroom toilet size is too small. Also lay off the Salt on breakfast eggs. Too much salt.
Great staff. Near the main train station. Right in the center. Tons of restaurant and food options nearby. Hotel lobby is open 24*7 and staffed. Breakfast was ok. Nothing special.

Mirror at the end of the corridor, unsettling when you step out of the elevator.
Buffet breakfast was an option served at bar / restaurant next door. It was more than adequate, cost was 17 CHF which was fine as long as you wanted a big breakfast.

The room could do with a bit of modernisation.
I visited Geneva for one night and stayed at the Astoria. The hotel location was perfect, located across from the main train station. My room overlooked the square and remained exceptionally quiet. I met a helpful and friendly gentleman at the desk. Furthermore, my room was clean and featured a spacious bath. The hot water temperature was ideal for a relaxing bath. I enjoyed fast wifi and experienced no streaming issues. I appreciated the easy check-in process and overall efficient service. In summary, I highly recommend the Astoria for a refined Geneva stay. I left feeling thoroughly satisfied and impressed.

The room is just a bit too small But the norm, I suppose, and really, not a great issue Otherwise, nothing else.
The service rendered at reception. The location, close to the main train station. The comfort of my single room. Just A bit small in size, but confy bed Close to all amenities, restaurants, shops, coffee shops, pharmacies, clothing shops, and MANOR, a must to visit, especially the supermarket. I call it: the museum in culinary experience. And of course, the restaurant at the top floor, which provides an array of food for any palate at a reasonable price. Cheaper than all restaurants in Geneva

A little bit noisy with the trains and people on the street. But that was just the first night. We got used to it and used earlplugs.
Proximity to train station was great. Front desk was very accommodating.
