Was on our own to follow instructions from the restaurant/front desk check-in and find the room. Wasn't entirely clear the rooms were in separate apartment buildings that look owned but rented out like AirBnBs. Would have appreciated that clarity from the start, but perhaps it was lost in translation to English.

Perfect location to end the TMB. Beautiful view over Champex Lac with a grocery store (odd hours) right across the street. Worked out great like an AirBnB. Ate dinner next door and enjoyed the trek being over. Bus stop is just outside the apartment complex to head back down to the train station to make your way back to Geneva. All one ticket on the Swiss system.

Breakfast was good. Typical Swiss breakfast with nice bread, nice cheese, nice ham and nice pastries and good coffee - but it was not included, they charged extra for it. You could have gone to the bakery down the street and paid a bit less. There was a nice view of the lake from the little balcony. We had a nice afternoon aperitif there with some wine and snacks from the grocery store across the street when we arrived after our hike. Lac Champex itself is lovely and quiet. The room comfortably accommodated the 3 of us.

The shower could have been a little better (it drained slowly, and the free combination shampoo/soap bottle was pretty low quality).

I highly recommend Au Vieux Champex. While Champex is a small town, the location was still excellent, right in the thick of things. The beds were quite comfortable. The kitchen had a good selection of utensils, although they could have used more cups. The deck had a great view of the lake. The facility is right across the street from a grocery store. The living room was comfortable. Overall, this was an excellent stay and I recommend it.

A bit of a slippery slope to get to the room's door. That's a injury waiting to happen. We were hiker's, so no big deal, but an older person might have had access trouble.

Great location just off the Tour du Mont Blanc trail. Was nice to have a private room in the middle of our hike!

The couch was always tipping over when we sat in it... could have been sturdier. The chairs in the living room were kind of yucky. The refrigerator door wouldn't always stay closed!

The apartment was very nice, very clean, with plenty of room for us. The kitchen was well appointed and we made meals in it. The large tub was a welcome reprieve for weary hikers! The location was great, next to the bus stop, grocery store, and the fabulous restaurant.

The person who checked us in was very rushed as she was bartending and waitressing too it appeared. We had to practically run with our luggage to stay up with her when she finally took us to the apartment and her instructions were very quickly relayed. I understand it is a very busy time of year but maybe hire more help?
