Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The only thing is that I had to catch a train and there was only one desk attendant and the other one was filing stuff so there was a group and I had to leave the key and go. I didn’t even get to sign the sauna park pass off my room and get confirmation that the rest of my deposit would be returned. Make sure to have a few staff there it’s really hard if you go by train to wait and wait.
I always love to stay here but since the renovations it’s even better. I love to go to the sauna park and it’s nice that you offer the discounted all-day pass.

Beds could be improved. They were very rigid
Breakfast was great, also the location of the hotel is super. On one side, next to water park and on the other side, 20 mins from Basel city by public transport, which is free during your stay

Roomservice food was limited, would have liked some bites to order. Check out took incredibly long, perhaps a 3rd counter could've opened.

Great breakfast buffet with vast choice / selection. In addition, appreciated the fact being able to order omelette for instance.. which was prepared to choice. Rooms are exceptional from a space perspective. One does not feel like a fish in a can

The kids room was small and there were no toys. Moreover, it was not cleaned properly and smelled ugly. The room while spacious enough but the kitchenette was not equipped (no spoons, no plates). The property charges extra for parking and access to the pool.
The gym was exceptional, spacious and very well equiped. The access to the pool (aquabasilika) was convenient. Staff was very frendly and helpful.

A little bottle of water as a welcome drink in the rooms will be a plus . Design of the bathroom - water doesn’t flow easily when showering.

On the day of departure, the housekeeping lady wanted to clean our room before we even checked out. She was quite persistent.

The location was way out there. It’s 1 hour at least from the airport with a walk to the nearest train station where you have to carry your luggage and cross a bridge. In a seedy part of town on that walk. Also, the kids area was under renovation and the breakfast was super expensive and there were flies all over the food.
The bed was comfortable.

Extremely expensive for what is offered (25 CHF for a breakfast that I consider normal). Location at 15 minutes walk from Pratteln train station, but not at all in Basel.
Luxury hotel with good service and impeccable rooms. Spa (Aquabasilea) is the best one in the area.

The discount for entering the waterpark in the so-called Advantageous Package is ultimately more expensive than if you buy the entrance separately.The CHF 20 for parking is also inadequate when you consider that it is a waterpark car park and there is no lift to the hotel and you have to carry all your belongings up the stairs through an entrance that does not lead to the hotel. With children this must be a particular delight. Why the hotel is not connected to the car park is completely illogical. The breakfast is not bad in principle, but the scrambled eggs made of tasteless powder really do not please. Similarly the 24/7 bar not only has a patch basic selection but also only works plus minus.
The hotel is only suitable for water park users. If you stay here with children and spend time on the slides, wild river or in the pools you will be satisfied. However, it is too late to eat until 9h, which is generally a Swiss vice. Too far to visit Basel - between the gas station and the high tension wires.
