Had to pay an extra 4CH during check-in for taxes. Noise outside when sleeping but that's not their fault. I feel like the showers could use some more lighting. It would be nice if they had a regular soap dispenser in the bathroom instead of the old school bar soap.

It's a 10-15min walk to the main train station. There's a common area and a kitchen. Check-in was pretty quick. The facilities were clean. Had an outlet by my bed, didn't use it so idk if it worked though. The bunk beds were quite high leaving more space separate from the other person.

I thought the bathrooms, room could have been a bit cleaner and appropriate bedding on the bed, but overall it was great. Great location!

I remember the bed didn't have the appropriate bedding on it but the front desk was really helpful and the duvets were really nice. Had a good night's sleep!

Excellent location, reachable on foot from central station in 10 minutes. The old industrial complex the hostel is located in is extremely beautiful and there are several restaurants and other shops located in it too. Super friendly staff, and a really comfortable relaxing downstairs lounge area!

it was close to central station and overall well located, it had everything we needed for one night. Staff was also very nice! We even got a card to get around by public transport for free.

We slept in the female dorm during early August. While we expected it to be hot, we did not expect one of the long-term dormmates to hijack the room fan and keep it to herself. It would be nice if Basel Backpack could ensure that either a) there are enough fans available to combat the summer heat, or b) prevent inter-dorm conflict by ensuring the fan would not be monopolized by a single person.

Beautiful facilities, phenomenal staff. BB takes the hostel/backpacking vibe and adds a hip and aesthetically pleasing ambiance. BB also provided great resources to visit the city.

No big drawbacks. If I have to mention something, then the breakfast was a bit pricy: 8 Francs, also there were no savory options like cheese, only sweet things like jam and nutella. However the staff allowed us to pack part of the breakfast for lunch, so that turned out to be great too actually.

Super nice location: a hipster complex, which looked like transformed factories. Plenty of clean nice bathroom facilities etc. The Basel Zoo is in walking distance and I can recommend this to everyone! Amazing monkey house with many different species and impressive architecture. The Zoo is especially affordable with the 50% discount that you get from the Basel Pass, which is included in the hostel price. The staff was very friendly and helpful: they allowed us to store our luggage before check-in and gave us the free Basel Pass, which has many discounts and serves as a free public transport pass. In general it was a very hospitable and friendly spot.

The quality of the bed and the bedding was not good. I booked a private room and bed and the bedding was old, therefore making annoying noise. Also, breakfast was not good at all.

The location was amazing, it literally has like tram and bus stop at its main entrance. Since being a hostel, it was well clean and the service was good.

the dorm room we stayed in for Art Basel was comfortable enough but the room could so easily be improved without much effort. Make it easier to plug in electronics! you have to climb all the way under the bed to plug in a computer or phone.

Disgusting bathroom: dirty and hairy floors, showers, sinks and no toilet paper for four days. Hard wooden beds in the dorm rooms, hurts the hips and back. Booring breakfast.

Good restaurant and bar. Breakfast is booring but i have high expectations in general. At the breakfast bar you can expect a medium quality buffet. Cornflakes, croissants, jam, milk, fruits and more but for me not worth the money. Strasbourg has a few other good places for breakfast. Restaurant has a good choice of tasty food on the menu. If you feel like not leaving the hostel at night then try the burger or other meals. Good value for the money. Rooms are nice, smart, clean and comfy. Beds are very hard and wooden and it hurts the hips after a few nights. Smart furnishing with smart electric sockets and lights. Bathroom is disgusting. Very dirty on the floors and in the showers. No toilet paper and it smells like sewerage. I've spent 3 night in the hostel and there was no improvement regarding cleanliness or toilet paper. Concept of the hostel is cool and aesthetic. Good ideas, medium to good food and fun program like live music.

Great location in an area of repurposed warehouses. Included in the price is free public transport in Basel, which is a great idea as the city centre is just a little too far to walk to.
