Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceNo air conditioner in the room just a fan , couldn’t sleep as it’s very hot even with open windows. There is a bar or club downstairs and the next street is very loud and busy during the night. Pillows are not comfortable.
Location was perfect as I was traveling for Art Basel,. Hotel is just 10 minutes away from the Messerplatz. Check in was good and the communication very fast and friendly . The room is nice and spacious . Rechargeable water bottles in the room.

GermanyThe check-in screens must be changed: instead of „You room number is xyz“ It should say „your room number is xyz, please check your mail to receive the code for the key-box“ Apart from this: Three different 4 digit numbers to memorize and in separate mails make the check-in not very comfortable.

Czech RepublicOn booking.com, in the accommodation information, the possibility to cook in the kitchen is declared! However, it is only for long term guests, I was not allowed to cook. The food brought was useless for me and I had to take it back home.
Great location of the hotel, close to public transport stops, a few minutes to the river, a small shop opposite, several restaurants within walking distance. Accommodation clean. There was no problem with self check-in and check-out.

NetherlandsThe most terrible pillows ever. and since there is no reception, of course you cannot change them. also we found it very warm in the room and first night it was difficult to sleep, but neat days and nights we kept the window open and it was nice. No TV in the room.

NetherlandsSelf checking was somewhat unwieldly but manageable. The lounge was very warm - not a problem for visitors, yet unwanted in a time of high energy prices.
Old abandoned building refurbished and used as a hotel. Simple room but affordable. Small kitchen available for self cooking.

CanadaNot so easy checking in when there's no one at the premise. If you somehow not able to get data on your phone, or maybe your phone is not working, then you are not able to check-in. No one is there to help you. Lights in the room are too dark. Shower head loose and does not stay to give you a good rinse. No TV in the room. Overall condition of the room not as good as in the pictures - a bit of a disappointment for me.
Good location. There's a small kitchen which is great for doing some small cooking on your own.

Then after check in had to claim for code for getting the key for the room. Received those emails (mire than 12) last day of my stay. Not easy going hotel for hosts.

GreeceThe procedure for the check in is kind complicated. As the most people traveling to Basel, I came from Europe and there was no adaptor for European plugs provided. When I chatted with the team and asked them they said that I have to buy my own. My laptop had no battery and I didn't know what to do. I don't think that this is an acceptable answer when you are giving that amount of money. Also in the shared toilet there was no soap for the hands.
I loved the location and the main entrance

Sweden- room was not too clean, - no shower gel/shampoo (but got it refilled next day), - nobody has collected our trash during the whole stay (4 days), - a bit difficult check-in process. The room code did not appear at the tablet - it came via e-mail. But the wifi code you receive at the room, so i had no way how to check the email before i got the key to the room
- amazing location, - excellent, helpful staff available all the time online, - nice common area in the hotel, - fully equipped living room and kitchen, - good price,
