Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Size of the room is a surprise even for Zürich / that double room is Very small plus the bathrooms have almost zero privacy ( we ended up using basement communal toilets).

For four days there was no room cleaning. All their requests are by their App. And the app was disabled for room cleaning

The only drawback of this hotel is the AC unit of the room.
The location is the hallmark of this hotel. Near the old city attractions and walk. Bahnhofstrasse street is one block distance.

The room was very tiny. We had a king size bed, that was attached to the wall on the side. One person had to crawl over the other to go to the bathroom. UNACCEPTABLE! The vanity area was tiny and the light was so dim you couldn't see yourself. Shower was good but the toilet was basically in the shower area. So when you opener the bathroom door steam from the shower filled the room. No exhaust. They made up pay extra for a view. The view was of construction across the street. AC was not adequate and did not equal the thermostat setting. No room service despite a restaurant that was empty most of the time. Extremely dim lighting in the halls.
The people were friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was very good although very limited selection.

Room was way too tiney. My husband could stand in the center of our room and touch both wall. Bed was a king and very comfortable but against all three wall, so my husband needed to climb over me to get in or out of bed. Not for the faint at heart. No room to lay our suitcases on the floor.
Staff was extremely helpful! Breakfast was very good.

No coffee machine in the room, no water unless you pick it from downstairs in a bottle (but no one tells). Been also to at least 4 other citizen M hotels. This is the worse in terms of building appearance (it’s a old building that they tried to renovate but the main stairs look from the 80s, not really in line with citizen M’s style).

Jacked up their prices by 480%. Then dropped them by $600 dollars right after my reservation went through. Booking refused to Price Match. The idea of controlling the room via a tablet is cute but impractical. AC didn’t work. The shower/bathroom set up was so awkward. Definitely not worth what I paid.

At night (Friday and Saturday) the area felt unsafe with lots of party-goers, drunks and people revving fast car engines (inaudiable from the room luckily). At check-in there was an issue, where the man said the hotel didn't accept a Swiss driving license as a form of ID. The hotel needs to change thier policy to be in line with most other hotels in Zurich (why would I bring a Passport or Permit when I haven't left the country? Utter madness. Of course, to get a driving license you need a permit, to get the permit, you have to submit your passport ... so how it's not valid I have no idea).
Comfy bed, clean room, sizeable enough room, bright, enjoyed the blackout blinds, very quiet room on the 3rd floor, ample products, clean sheets, quick check-in.
