Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Breakfast is $27 per person? Not per room?
The rooms are very small yet not suffocating. Unlike other places that you can’t breath because it is tiny.it is actually comfortable. Maybe because it has a large window, it is modern and very clean. They have a restaurant downstairs. Also walkable to downtown Zurich. Across the hotel is the train station.

Rooms are compact but we knew that. It suited us well for a one night stay.
Location was excellent. Room design was compact but clever in terms of layout and design. Super quiet and black out blinds were great. We did not have breakfast but coffee was great and staff very friendly. Automated checkin and checkout was easy. Nice hotel for short stay.

Ipad controls were not necessary, slow to change aircon etc. some staff were very junior and seemed new to service industry which felt awkward. Prices are zurich prices, a little high.

- The room is quite small. - The shower is not a separate room but just a capsule with frosted glass in the room; the sink is separate from the shower and also in the room - a questionable design choice. - No slippers provided.
- The hotel is located in the center of Zurich, within walking distance of the main attractions; the main train station is 10 minutes away, and Bahnhofstrasse is just 300 meters away. Also, there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel. - Very ergonomic hotel - you can control the curtains, TV, and even set the shower lighting with an iPad (I particularly love the lighting :-)). You can also make the room completely dark with the black-out curtains. - Self-check-in is a big plus. - After a hot day, you can pour yourself a water pitcher at the bar without bothering the bartenders.

I do not personally like this self check in/Check out. The rooms are quite small and they have a not nice smell. Smells like cleaning stuff.
Good Breakfast good Bed. Hotel is for buisiness at the best Location all client for me are reachable per foot. Service is very friendly. Rooms are very clean and quite new. You can drink the Tap water what is pretty nice.

Bed is a little bit high, and nothing to hold in the bathroom for elderly, Slipper mat will be great to add on.
Room is comfy, and beautiful. Spacious and in the middle of the city with great value. I love CITIM, I can assure what standards I can get anywhere in the world. A+

The towels were not replaced for the first several days and were wet. It's hard to dry towels in the hotel room - even if they don't do room cleaning for the first several days after check-in, the towels should still be replaced daily.
Great location in the center of the city. Nice clean modern room, plenty of light. Lights, temperature, blinds, and room cleaning schedule can be controlled via an app on the phone. The room is small but the layout is convenient. All plumbing and electrical systems worked well.

They did not provide me with slippers and tea kettle. However it was a wonderful stay!

The location. The staff are so friendly, helpful, welcoming, & positive. The Barista lady was so kind and awesome, the rest of the staff as well. Food delicious. The hotel decorations are modern and unique. I loved the room tablet, which you could control the whole room by a click of a button. Basically it was an amazing experience & I would stay again in CitizenM.

Very small room. Iron is not available and makes it very inconvenient when on a quick trip.
Location was perfect. Staff is very welcoming and professional. Very clean room and the facilities in general. Fancy set up in the room where almost everything is controlled by an iPad or hotel's app.
