Lady manager was rude, if you had a complaint you were a problem. I had no serious issues, but I witnessed another guest being treated very poorly by the manager over a very serious issue. The breakfast staff would yell at you if you did not follow their orders as far as everything from where you put your dirty dishes to how you prepared your coffee. There was no air conditioning in the rooms and we were told that having a fan in your room was illegal, yet they had two fans blowing on the front desk.

Most of the front desk staff were nice, there were some modern conveniences, but not enough.

It was too hot in the rooms, super humid and there was no air conditioning. Breakfast was mostly junk food - like sugary stuff, bread, etc. I would have loved it if there were eggs for breakfast, for example - as there are people who visit that really look after their diet, so bread or sugar for breakfast is not the most ideal thing for us.

The location was good, it was close to the center and the staff was super friendly and supportive. There was space for my luggage, which was great - I could lock it and not worry about it. There's also Wifi which is great. It was clean.

We paid extra for a family room which was not comfortable at all! It was impossible to sleep because the quality of the bed was not good and it was too hot in the room. There is no airco and no shower inside the room. The worst experience ever!

I didn't like that I have to wait until 3pm - arrived there around 10:30am. I couldn't keep my perishable meal in the fridge, only if I go through an overcomplicated system by paying 30 CHF deposit to keep my food in a separate building without the proper explanation from the receptionists where I can find the kitchen. Also, I discovered that there is no communal fridge in the kitchen, ONLY a locked away and overprotected one. You need to pay a 30 CHF deposit to be able to use it, and the staff weren't supportive of it. One receptionist said, "The fridge is in the kitchen." But he didn't mention that I needed a key to open it. I kept getting very vague information about every single thing. To enter the breakfast area: One guest has ONLY one access per morning to enter the breakfast lounge. I found this out after I left all my food in the lounge and wanted to get something from the guest fridge, but when I tried to get it, the guest kitchen was locked, and I couldn't get my thing from there. Then, I tried to enter the breakfast lounge again without success. I went to see the receptionist and he said the one access rule. This information supposed to be given at the arrival immediately. Also, the wifi didn't work on the second morning for hours. By the reception, because of this, I wasted approx an hour instead of going to explore the city. Then, an hour later, I asked the receptionist to explain a place on the map to go there without GPS and wifi access. Especially for tourists with a low budget who are trying to save money on mobile data. In the EU I can use my mobile data but not in Switzerland. Please, staff go for that EXTRA mile for every single guest! In another hostel in other Swiss city I was FAR BETTER treated+others too than at Geneva Hostel... Overprotected with access use of keys for literally EVERYTHING.Too much and stressful. Remove the barrier to breakfast lounge.

I liked that I could keep my luggage at the reception until the check-in time. Meeting guests from around the world made my stay a nice one. Great location Welcoming ambience of the reception's lounge - massive! :)

The property has no fans and is not suitable for summers at all. In most hostels I’ve been, there is help for setting up beds and bedsheets but here you have to do it by yourself. Why am I paying twice/thrice the amount then?

There is a close tram station which you can use to be in common attractions in a few minutes. Super close to train station. Clean sheets. Good with that price.

entertainment room had a tv and a table with some chairs and that’s it. Table was gone after the first night. Can’t call that an entertainment room. Very overpriced, you need to make a deposit to do most things which is quite frustrating, and also pay extra on top of how expensive it already is. Had to pay for a locker to keep my bag there after had checked out. The kitchen facilities could’ve had better equipment. Wouldn’t recommend if you are travelling to meet people as it was mainly school groups and people there for business.
