Great location and smaller than other hotels in area, which we prefer.. Staff was pleasant and helpful.. Outdoor cafe for lunch or dinner was great, menu options good, reasonable pricing.. Cafe waiter Norbert Koch was outstanding. Attentive, personable and very helpful… staff at front desk also helpful and professional..

No smart TV, nobody 's watching regular channels now. Coffee machine making undrinkable coffee, out of standard, so you cannot bring your own capsule.

On arrival, which was after the posted check-in time, I was told my room was not ready. The desk clerk called up to the head of housekeeping and asked how long it would be. I was told it would not be long and that I could have a seat in the area near the front desk. After nearly 45 minutes I inquired again when my room might be ready. The clerk had to call housekeeping again and I was given the key to my room. On arrival, it was hot and stuffy inside. The A/C was not working at all. I alerted one of the housekeeping staff and she alerted the front desk. Another person came up to the room to check the thermostat as I had done - and then left me in the room. When I called the desk and asked if there was another room available, I was told there was not. That they would fix the A/C. The maintenance man came and tried to fix it to no avail. Meanwhile, I was checking on this site and there were indeed rooms posted as available. Fortunately, a few minutes later I was moved to a new room - and handed a new key by, I assume, the hotel manager. All's well that ended well - but, between the long wait to get into the first room and the initial indifference to what was happening with the A/C unfortunately left an overall bad impression.

Room was well appointed and quiet. Breakfast was large and varied. And the hotel is very close to the central station. The staff eventually took care of an issue with my check-in and non-working A/C. See below.

My room is not on lift level, need to walk up or down a few stairs. A little inconvenient for me as I am middle aged and my right leg can't walk up stairs. I told the front service staff after the 1st night (I stayed for 3 nights) but the next room also need to walk up or down a few stairs.

Location, very near to Zurich HB and tram stop right in front of the hotel. 1 tram stop or just walk about 5 mins to the popular vegetarian Hiltl restaurant. Room is spacious and clean.

Host response. If you are a tourist and anywhere is your first time then prime importance is welcoming attitude and guidance and, somehow it’s missing somewhere.

Location and accessibility. Public transport is at doorsteps.
