Although the hotel pictures show a Restaurant & Bar (the signage is still on the building as of August 2024), this hotel only serves breakfast from 7:30-9:30a. This was misleading as we expected to be able to eat and drink there in the evening. It worked out fine, but it came as a surprise when we were informed at check in. We learned at the end of our stay that there is a restaurant and grocery one town over in Ringgenberg, but unsure of their operating hours. Also, there's no place to unpack suitcases and store your clothes. There is a closet with a few hangers, but no dresser with drawers. Our room had an extra bed, so we put our suitcases on it and lived out of them for 8 days. Without it, there wouldn't be space in the standard sized room. Finally, the lighting: There's one light above the bed that's blindingly super-bright and one light in the hall - both operated by one switch: You can't have one light on without the other. No side table or pen lights for reading while your partner sleeps. We opted for keeping the bathroom light on for indirect, softer lighting. This, along with adding a dresser, is something I'd like management to change.

We fully enjoyed our stay here and would stay again in a heartbeat! We loved having a balcony with a view of the lake. Having a screened door was helpful to keep out any bugs at night while the door was open for fresh air. The temps were high while we were there in August, so having a standup fan in the room was helpful as there is NO A/C. The beds were comfy and we "lucked out" that there was a small fridge in our 3-person room. Otherwise, there's a communal, fully-equipped kitchen that served us well to heat up food we got from the COOP. (Note: There's no can opener, so bring or buy your own if you use canned goods, or be prepared to use some other means to open them.) The short 3 minute walk to/from the train station was very convenient, and there's a wonderful beach park just a 10 min walk from the hotel where the locals swim & play. If you do plan to swim or do any other water-related activities, be sure to bring your own towel; we brought quick-dry, light-weight "TOWL" brand towels, generally sold to backpackers. Something similar is beneficial. We didn't ask, but also didn't want to assume that the hotel would provide extra towels. The breakfast was good, although be prepared for cold cuts and bread, not cooked-to-order eggs, bacon and waffles (Americans can be put off by this). Renetta is a lovely hostess who enjoys making your (very delicious, Costa Coffee) espresso drinks and getting whatever you need. Fresh juice, baked goods, hard boiled eggs, cereal and yogurt were plentiful and all you need to start your day. If you want mustard, mayo or other condiments for your breakfast sandwich, BYO. Also, consider making egg salad with the boiled eggs: it's great on a fresh croissant! PS: After a major thunderstorm on our last night that shut down the rail, the hotel manager came and picked us up from Interlaken Ost for 35CF, which was less than a cab ride.

No shampoo or body wash provided. Only conditioner and body cream. Quarter roll of toilet paper in room. Room was stuffy as hell…. At least 30 degrees with just a tiny fan to try and cool it.

The property is at a very good location. You get trains every hour to interlaken(free, using the travel card provided by hotel). The receptionist, Reneta, is very friendly and professional. The location is very peaceful and is perfect for couples wanting to relax in intetlaken.

1. **Dirty Linens:** The pillow and blanket were visibly dirty (photos attached). 2. **Unpleasant Odor:** The room, and indeed the entire area, had a strong, unpleasant smell. 3. **Smoking at Reception:** I personally observed a staff member smoking at the reception desk, causing the hallway to smell of smoke. 4. **Rude Receptionist:** The receptionist was extremely rude, and became visibly angry, making us feel very uncomfortable.

Basin was rusted, colored towel was provided instead of white one normally provided by other hotels, no small towel was given, no regular cleaning was scheduled, no alternative arrangement was there as there was no lift for carrying the luggage etc.

The lady who takes care of breakfast was rude. The time for breakfast is till 9:30 and she started yelling at us and another family for coming at 9:10 am. Really pathetic breakfast spread. We stayed for 4 days and it was bad for all days.

This was one of our more expensive rooms during our stay, and we felt that while the views were great, the room and bathroom lacked general cleanliness and is just an older place. We feel it looked a little nicer in the photos than when we arrived.

The views from our balcony of the lake were incredible, and it was very close to the train station. The staff were extremely nice, and allowed us to check in early. The homemade breakfast was also excellent, including fresh baked croissants.
