For the hefty price we spend for 3 nights, I was expecting a bit more from the room. It was quite basic and small, which I could have lived with, but the lack of air conditioning on a hot summer day made it uncomfortable for the 3 nights spent. This was very surprising for us on such an expensive city, almost all hotels do not have AC in their facilities. It seems to be a thing in Switzerland. This was my first time in Zurich during the summer, and it never occurred to me taking into account how cold the winter can be. The hotel provided a very small fan, which helped a little, but it wasn’t enough to cool down the room. Things got better the third night as the temperature of the city cooled down a bit.

We visited the hotel during the month of August and the best thing about it for us was definitely its location – right in the heart of Zurich, making it easy to explore the city on foot. We walked from there down to Bellevue in 15 min while enjoying exploring old town Zurich and its beautiful architecture. Major attractions, restaurants, and public transport are all within walking distance, which was incredibly convenient. We arrived by train from Paris to Zurich HB Central, and we just crossed the street with our suitcases to the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you're prioritizing location and don’t mind the no-frills setup, this hotel could work for you. But be prepared for the heat in the summer months! Breakfast was acceptable, with some variety of local produce, and we took it every morning on the little varanda overlooking the plaza. The coffee was very good.

The room was rather small: one of us had to clamber into bed from the bottom. No room for kettle etc so had to go downstairs to get coffee in the morning.

Very convenient: easily walkable from Zurich HBB station. Trams, buses and restaurants.on the doorstep. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

It was great. We thought it a bit pricey, but then, this is Zurich, and everything is pricey!

Perfect location, less than 10 min from Zurich HB. Room was simple, clean, roomy enough and had excellent shampoo and soap! Free coffee was nice as well. We looked over the Polybahn, which was a nice view!

Noisy as the windows did not seal well and traffic and emergency vehicles were audible all night. Room tired in appearance. No recent updates. Interesting brown toilet and sink. Room small and cramped

We needed a hotel for 1 night as we traveled through Zurich by train. This was the least expensive and acceptable hotel we could find. Location excellent. Everything appeared clean.. Mattress comfortable but tight against the wall in a small room so one partner needed to crawl out the bottom of the bed. There was wifi and a socket near the bed. Good shower with curtain.. Free tea at registration.

Slanted roof line by bed, almost impossible to not hit your head. Only 1 chair in room. Outlets for charging devices, very sparse.

The inconsiderate guests talking loudly at 1am. The sometimes surly reception staff. I had a knee problem and couldn’t walk well. They gave me the ice I requested but showed little empathy.

Lower the bathroom mirror. Good to know: there are some stairs to navigate your luggage up, before you get to the elevators.

The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The room was as expected from my online research. It was clean, beds were comfortable, there was enough lighting and electrical outlets. The bathroom mirror is hung very high - a bit of an inconvenience for my 5 foot (152 cm) height, but there was another mirror in the room. Breakfast was great; dinner in the restaurant was very good. Loved the location. Niederdorf is right there, and wonderful to wander through with resaturants, cafes and shops. The street noise did not bother us, but might bother some.
