excellent service with Matterhorn view

We were only told on arrival that the restaurant would be closed for the duration of our stay as we were going into low season. The hotel is a 20 minute uphill walk from the central street and after a long day hiking / biking we just wanted to rest at the hotel. The staff helped us order take aways in the local area but it cost 25 euro each time for delivery. It would have been good to know about the restaurant closure in advance.

It was so beautiful, we booked a Matterhorn view room and we could see really from everywhere in our room , sauna was so awesome! We loved the stay !

Matthiol hotel is amazing. Beautiful location, amazing room, and waking up to the Matterhorn is unforgettable. Our room had all the amenities expected of a Swiss luxury hotel. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Saida and Mareike were very nice to us. The electric cart driver too. And the best view of the Matterhorn!

Not spending more time at Hotel Matthiol.

Very decent breakfast. Staff at reception, breakfast, dinner, chef and all excellent. We decided to turn back to the hotel upon realising that the last train back home would have us arrive the next morning, so we headed back to Matthiol Hotel and were well received for re-check in just after 22h00.

the view to the lake of course! restaurant is pretty good centrally located small, but functional fitness and sauna facilities overall great value for money

The design of the property was beautiful, the spa facilities were really nice (especially the jacuzzi). I also loved the balcony and view of the mountains.

No taxi service to the town. 25 mins walk.

it’s very beautiful, the structures and design match the whole Zermatt theme. very nature oriented with the wood design. I love how they make your bed and put chocolates. I love the personal sauna and steam shower in your own room. you cannot get that anywhere. I wish I could live here forever. exceptional service from the staff. Danke, merci beaucoup!

I love the room and the spa. When I wake up in the morning and go to the balcony, I feel so happy. Staff are very welcoming too and the food during dinner is surprisingly great too!! I will love to come back!

Nothing it was perfect!

Love the room and the view. Like that it was away from the centre where all the bars and restaurants were. Yet only a 15min walk with stunning scenery to get into the centre. Room was beautiful and clean, with a super comfy bed Breakfast was great too! We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the spa room with private sauna and tub inside the room. It was perfect and clean. The staff is kind and extremely helpful. They always smile and make your day better. Breakfast was excellent, it was a buffet breakfast with a lot of choices. They could even provide us with delicious gluten-free bread rolls. We are very satisfied with Hotel Matthiol.
