great location, great staff that goes out of their way to make you happy, we could use the pool after official opening hours, they served free desert and had our breakfast table decorated for a birthday and were happy to stop what they were doing to take some family pictures for is. Breakfast provided a well-selected variation of healthy and fresh food; not over-abundant with respect to selection, but more than adequate. Dinners were very nice too, same concept. The service was exceptional, did also show flexibility of requested. Rooms were spacious enough, not over-the top luxury, but real swiss-mountain cosy atmosphere. Location not far from the main railway station, the Gornergrat terminal and the shops. Our younger family members enjoyed the swimming pool and spa facilities. We were with 5 and had 3 rooms for 5 nights.

SwitzerlandOur room was on the 4th floor under the roof. Hence the shower was next to the wall where the roof is lower. It was impossible to take a shower properly - neither standing nor sitting. Definitely not a 4 star hotel level. Interior of the rooms is like from the 60s but without charm.
Great location, nice views from the rooms. Very responsive staff. Nice small SPA with a pool, jacuzzi , hammam and sauna.

United StatesTwo days later after my cancellation request to the hotel they emailed me directly, saying they won't refund me anything as they are not able to RESELL the room. When I emailed them back humbly ask for clarification on their claim that they could not resell the room, surprisingly they became so defensive and agitated. They declined to give me any information on why I was seeing the suite I reserved indeed was resold online. My injury was devastated and I have tried to appeal to the hotel management team repeatedly, hoped the hotel could have acted on sympathy, compassion and humanity ground to give me some reasonable refund if not all as I am about to face very high surgery medical bills from my injury. Very disappointedly I have to say this hotel is not only a dishonest business but also morally corrupted. Not only they coldly brushed off my grievous pleas via emails but also their manager/owner would not even take my phone calls. So for my $1863.00 charged not only I could not have a little honor speaking to the hotel boss, but also they are so unconscious to have even doubled up their profit on my unfortunate injury. This is a horrendous business malpractice! There is no any other properties and business I encountered has ever practice the way this hotel does! So I am calling upon all future Zermatt travelers NOT to book this property HOTEL METROPOL & SPA ZERMATT! You don’t know what you will get from them under other unexpected events!
I had a terrible accident which broke my leg with the Tibial plateau fracture two days before my checkin to this hotel. So unfortunately it forced me to cancel my trip to Zermatt. I contacted the property and requested for the refund due to the injury and need to undergo surgery. After the property received the hospital proof of my injury and urgent plea for the refund they did respond for the consideration of the refund. On next day, I found the exact suite I originally booked on this site had appeared on at least 5 major hotel booking sites, including this site that I made my booking (I am not allowed to mention the names of sites). However, in next day, the suite was rebooked and no longer available on any of those booking sites. Then I still kept monitoring the availability of the suite until the last day of my booking for Dec 20 - 24, 2022 The same suite had never become available for even one night of my four nights reservation for the total charge of $1863.00. I have kept all screenshots as proof.
