Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The kitchen/ dining room was a little cramped but we were trying to get 10 in place to cook and eat all at once.
This was a great place to stay. Plenty of space in the bedrooms. Great bathrooms. We all had a great time. The owners were vet welcoming. The house was lovely and warm and had parking we could use.

Clean property with all amenities. Free car parking available. Kitchen facilities available. Wi-Fi available at good speed. Lake side view is excellent. Host are super good and gave us few good tips to explore places nearby.

It’s a train ride from Zurich and a bus ride from the nearest train station. This didn’t deter us from staying as we knew the location ahead of time.
It was very comfortable and affordable. We didn’t use the kitchen but it would be so nice if you’re looking to save money and/or staying for an extended period of time. It was a short walk to the lake/beach which was lovely. The host is very welcoming and accommodating. She drove us to the train station in her own car for no charge.

It was a great stay, the owner is a very lovely lady, she was very comprehensive and welcoming and waited for me until very late at night to come in. The location is amazing, would absolutely recommend.

Needs to travel 10minutes from station to the property. Yet, It is value for money.
Owner of the property is very good. Very comfortable and a location with rich views. Excellent garden in the house.

It was great for one night. In a neighborhood with no stores or restaurants nearby.
Comfortable and clean room. The bathrooms were clean and the kitchen had all the basic necessities. The host was incredibly kind and gave us great tips for what to do in the area.

No negative experience.
Our stay was absolutely perfect. We got everything we needed. Comfortable bed to sleep in, a shower room to get ourselves cleaned and a kitchen where we could eat our breakfast. We also needed WiFi which worked very well. Maggie, the hostess kindly helped us in every way. Also we needed late check-in and it was possible at 10pm. Thank you. We appreciate everything.

nearly nothing I just could say a toilet on the same floor of some of the top floor rooms
it is a real bed & breakfast, a house in a residential area, people leaving in the house. very quite and well organised and clean very good value for money on Zürichsee

The wooden floor in the room in the second floor was cracking/sounding very very loud, especially in the middle of the night when I woke up and needed to use the toilet, the creaking sound was too loud, I felt bad(guilty) to wake others in the house.
Very friendly staff, nice home, and very nice location. The host received us very late in the evening without any issues we were able to settle down. A shared kitchen and multiple shared toilets/bathrooms were helpful.

The place is very different from the hostels I experienced around the world. Stylish but also really cosy with very lovely and friendly owners. You find all essential things, there is a limited number of rooms so it's not that mass tourism place like HI. Still you easily meet people. You can walk for 15 minutes to the train station, but also direct hikes from the place through the wine yards and meadows are great to manage. We really enjoyed our stay and even prolonged because we liked the place so much.
