Half of the staff were not helpfull, they dont know how to checkin or checkout… I got a late checkout and go up and down for six times because none of them know how to unlock the key when there is a late check out option. The room has a lot dust everywhere. About upgrade, i got an email, and i assumed the price shown in the email is for the whole stay, then I understood while checking out, It was only for one night… I paid double for an upgrade… ridiciolous… I assume for the upgrade i paid more then the first booking… Checkin was disaster… 10-15 people come after me but they got the rooms but i did not… i was able to checkin at 14:30. I also signed yes for the email which asks me early checkin option…( with the price payment )

Breakfast was excellent and made outstanding by Jean in charge, who brought pancakes as a surprise for our children and was fantastic all round. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious and we felt completely at home.

The staff is not kind and they don’t solve problems. When I call the front desk they don’t answer or they said they will do something and then they not. They are desorganaizsd and they contradicted themselves. My laundry was not ready when they said.

Room was so noisy. Make sure you are not in room 140 on the weekend. The rooms facing the Main Street (above reception) have extremely poor noise protection. We did not sleep the whole night (was a Saturday). The double glazing just does not work. Rest of hotel is ok.

The location is unbeatable, the staff- amazingly friendly. You get a Basel card which gives you 50 % on all museums AND COMPLETE FREE RIDING ON ALL THE PUBLIC TRASNPORT FOR YOUR ENTIRE STAY. Rooms are big - and then there is the indoor pool (almost half Olympic ). And then comes the best part: Breakfast – full and rich, and full of vegetables , eggs any way you want them à la carte. And then theIcing on the cake – Jean – the breakfast headmaster. We were a family with two grandparets , two parents (us), and our two teenage kids (18 , 16) who – as teenagers – have all these weird requests on food etc. Andjean was amazing, helped the kids, researved tables for our elders so they could easilyget in and out – and just gave us a complete feeling – as if we’ve come to a welcoming and loving home. The staff at work on Sunday 10.09 had absolutely no skills to deal with anything that went out of the script. They charged me two city taxes because, according to them, I booked for 2 people. I didnt make a big deal because it was €4, and when I see they charged people twice for the ROOM, I am actually relieved. Then I asked for a charger, the guy on the night shift said he had a box full of them, but he couldnt borrow because some guests dont give it back. Well, just charge it to the room then! When I booked, I asked for a extra bed sheet - not there. Air-co didnt work. Heavy winter duvet in the middle of Summer. Room urgently in need of a good clean under the bad!

Breakfast in a meeting room is a no-go (especially because there is a nicer restaurant location on site). Breakfast selection: can be improved. I saw the dustline under the bed where the cleaning ended. Central location also meant noisy location. Disappointed by the Radisson Blue standards, or under performance - unable to tell. Sorry, but I can't leave a good rating.

Drinks in the bar were expensive but then so were the rest of the bars.

Great location as it was within walking distance to the town centre in one direction and the zoo in the other. The tram stop was right outside too. Lots of lovely bars and restaurants close by. Room was clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely to go to to avoid the heatwave! Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice and clearly labelled to help with any intolerances.
