The hotel which declares to be lean luxury could afford a bathrobe (which would be really be essential considering quirky setup of the built in bathroom) and slippers in the room, not to mention the drinking water and cups The breakfast, while generally fine, didn’t have any main courses beyond boiled eggs (no omelette etc).

Tea/coffee in the room rather than at the end of the corridor would have been an added bonus.

Location was really good - close to the lake and old town. Pizza dinner was very good and well presented. Free cocktails in exchange for not getting the room cleaned was a real bonus. Breakfast was great but typically for Switzerland was expensive at 30CHF each. Rooms were very well sound proofed - no noise at all. Staff recommended a great place for dinner and were really friendly and helpful.

The toilet is a small glass booth inside the room. Which is fine if solo. Not much privacy If you are traveling with a friend or kids. It would be very uncomfortable.

Only negative would be the breakfast. It was $28 CHF and there was only cold choices. The other minor issues would be (1) we didnt really have a view from the room. Just the roof of Globus. We didnt mind because we were never in the room. (2) the wash basin is outside the bathroom, and if someone is up early and washing /brushing, you could be disturbed. Not big issues.

We were very happy with Ruby Claire. We had booked the WOW Room and the room was very comfortable. I had sent a request to the hotel to assign me a quiet room and they did. It was comfortable , quiet and cozy. It was in a great location, we were able to walk to the Christmas market, train station (for our trips to Zermatt, Montreaux etc.)

Only downside was glass bathroom. No one wants that - lights up the whole bedroom when u nip to the loo in the night too

The bar upstairs is comfortable and informal but has a limited menu for both food and drink (particularly beers) and it's expensive but it is Switzerland so not unexpected.

Location in city centre is ideal for a weekend break and you don't want to hire a car. The hotel was clean and warm. Good shower. The pictures online accurately reflect what you get. I liked the choice of a free drink vs daily room cleaning.
