The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location provided some gorgeous views - though efficient travel to the location is really only accessible by car - otherwise requires a 30 min hike. The restaurant is well worth the price, and outdoor lounge areas, mini golf, and a playground make it nice as well.

We had a great dinner but it was expensive and even the tap water cost 4.5 euros for hall a liter! Note that the kitchen closes at 8pm.

Amazing location with incredible views of lake lucern and Pilatus. Staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help arrange football tickets for the Luzern game. Evening meal was amazing. We had fantastic rooms with a huge balcony.

It is a bit of a challenge to get up there from Lucerne. The Funicular timings are odd and if you miss that, you will end up walking all the way up there (with the luggage)

Another reason why we chose this hotel was because of the very positive reviews of the restaurant. However the restaurant is only open during lunch and dinner time… so if you arrive late then you need to find a place to eat elsewhere which can be a little inconvenient when you are tired from a trip.

Beautiful place to stay in the middle of Swiss countryside. If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and experience being around green meadows, cows grazing, ponies running, then this is definitely the place to be. Also very friendly and helpful staff and very clean facilities.

No lift No air conditioning, unable to leave a window open due to wasps nest right outside the room. On checking out I was told I could have changed rooms if I'd mentioned it, but the manager also stated they were fully booked?? So room was very warm. No mini bar or fridge so any cold drinks or food gets very warm No compimentary water, info in room suggested you drink the lovely tap water!! Mini giolf is actually just "crazy golf". No decor in hotel hardly, mainly whitewashed walls Cleaners left bed linen and towels in corridor too room every day! Ne tea making facilities but OK if you like coffee. A small beer was 5.60 francs, the waiter did not bring me my change either!

Truly outstanding views, except the pylon right outside the only window to my room. Apparently that was because I requested a "quiet room"?? So had to put up with looking at a pylon. The bed was hard but I prefer it that way. The room was clean. Shower was really good.

the only downside to the property was the fact that the cable car only runs from 10am-5pm which limits the travel up and down the mountain, unless you use a taco which can be expensive if using repeatedly throughout stay. probably not the best location if you plan to experience the night life but great for a couple, family or friends looking for a relaxing stay without being out late every night.

we loved the view, the trails and nature around the site were wonderful. the rooms were clean and comfortable. we liked that there was a restaurant on the property.

No one on the staff told us when we checked in that the bus was free...and we were entitled to an electronic Tourist Card. Once I signed in and got wifi (which was difficult without a phone that works in Europe), I found out that I was entitled to free local busses....after we had already used the bus for SF 8.40.

Getting to the hotel from the train station was kind of difficult, but that's the price you pay for staying at the top of the hill. I got in really late, so some of the transportation, like the funicular, was not available, and I had to carry my bags up. It probably wouldn't have been as difficult if I had gotten there earlier in the day.

The view was amazing, and the staff was incredibly helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, and it was a really beautiful location. The funicular down from the top was also a fun experience.

We were travelling by train and had asked the best way to get to the hotel as it is a fair way out of town, instructions were minimal and we were not told once that there was no direct public transport. The only way after 530pm was to get off at a bus stop and then walk up a steep hill with your bags, if you have any mobility issue or are unfit this was not very fun, especially if u come back from town late in the dark. A taxi into town was also over 30 franks one way. The rooms are a little tired and for the price It could do with some upgrades..

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and the views were beautiful, especially at night when you could see old town all lit up. Very family friendly with mini golf too. Use of the funicular for free was great even though it was quite a walk from bus stop.

We thought the food and service was very good, although portion sizes were quite small for the price.

The hotel was very nice and in a beautiful location, although it is not the most convenient for access to the city of Lucerne. Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The funicular has limited hours, so we were not able to use it in order to take a bus into the city. The walk from a bus stop to the hotel is up a steep hill, and we had almost constant rain when we were there, so for us (aged 70+), walking to the hotel was not a reasonable choice. Although there was reduced visibility the entire time there, we could not see the mountains, although we believe the views would be spectacular on clear days.
