Vertiginous stairs to room were scary- made taking suitcases hard work. There was no hot water for a shower. This was very disappointing. Fortunately we only stayed one night. There was a kettle but no cups to be able to make a hot drink. The room at the front was noisy with drunk tourists in the middle of the night.

Property was fine. Staff were fine. As modest Muslim women we did get a couple of awkward looks esp around breakfast but I guess they weren’t use to seeing Muslim women?

View is amazing. Right in the middle of town for easy access. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly - family owned and run.

The hotel is very aged, so are all the furniture, the room size is very small, we found it hard to open our suitcases. Lighting not bright enough. Bathroom is very small. Restaurant is quite small, sometimes customers have to wait to get a table. Bread, croissants and one egg are allocated, not buffet style. Fruit and cold meat are quite limited. Perhaps Grindelwald is more expensive than Lucerne and Zermatt, my hotels in these areas have better value.

It’s close to Grindelwald Station. We booked a room facing Eiger Mountain so that’s the best of our stay. The host was accommodating, as we needed to check out early, so the host had prepared a breakfast bag for us and let us store our luggage after the excursion.

I was disturbed throughout my stay by loud music and thumping noises coming from the upstairs and neighboring rooms.

The managers I encountered during my stay were all friendly, and the balcony view from the room was fantastic.

A bit noisy at night as there are restaurants close to it. But this is okay. The backyard garden should be improved. It looks like not being taken care of. Shared bathroom is a bit far from my room. Other users were not disciplined enough and dirty the toilets and made it floated. Appreciated of you can spare some slippers for our use

The room has an old style vibe for me. Bathroom is very small, especially the shower, shower head is neck level, you need to pick it up. Breakfast is mostly bread and spread.

The apartment was a separate place from the hotel. It doesn't have a lift so you need to carry all luggages. The view in front of the apartment was amazing. Beds are comfy, they don't have extra pillows in the room. Street view is cool as well when it was snowing hard during our stay.

the cleaner forgot to clean the small dustbin in toilet( previous person who stayed there left sanitary pad and underwear in the dustbin). Room is quite small.no lift so you have to carry luggage upstairs. Reception is not that friendly.Ladies from the breakfast room are friendly though.

The breakfast is quite ok.The heating in the room is good.Keep me warm for whole night( rainny day n pretty cold- below 10degC when i stayed there). Very near to the train station.Can also take bus.

WiFi will be a problem. No lift, if you stay on 3rd floor, 4F in Asia, it may be another problem to elder people, but the host was willing to help.

Lovely hotel in a chalet style but there was no separate guest area to chill out in. No tea/coffee facilities in the room - would have been nice to chill in our room or another area after a long day hiking the mountains with a cuppa.

Close to the bahnhof (5-6min walk), reasonable sized rooms, good sound insulation in the windows. We had two interconnected rooms as a family, and these face the street rather than the Eiger (I knew this when booking). It can get a bit noisy in the evening on the street, but the windows were well insulated. The hotel provides a simple decent breakfast with the room (not many in Switzerland do) and the staff are lovely. Good value for Grindelwald.

The room was on the smaller side and had limited amenities available. In comparison to the other places we stayed at in Switzerland and considering the room rate, this one could have been better.

The best thing about the property is it's location, we had great view of mountains from the windows. Breakfast was okay, choices were somewhat limited.

We had a room on the streetside and in the evening and night there is too much noice to sleep with an open window, which was a pitty for is. But with closed windows it’s quiet.

Visited this hotel 27 yrs ago. Noticed that the interior has been upgraded. View of the Eiger valley is not so nice due to new hotels built near to the hotel. The female manager was very friendly & helpful.

We booked two rooms for four adults with an adjoining door not realizing that it was more suitable for two adults and two children. So it did not have enough room for four adults.

Location was excellent for town access. The main street could be a bit noisy at times.
