Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBetter warning of the spa facility capacity would have been nice. Pre booking time slots is a must! The spa itself was very pleasant but the whole group was unable to go in. Also, the fondue restaurant is too close to the rooms and there was an extremely strong smell coming up to the rooms. In the rooms was less so but coming out into the communal areas was always a slap to the face. I would suggest think about how to ventilate better.
Such an amazing location and the rooms were spacious and clean. The restaurant was great and the 5 course meal was worth the money. Our waiter was excellent and enhanced our evening. The outdoor curling was a fun way to finish the night. Breakfast was good and in a nice space. Great stay and felt very relaxed

AustraliaNo issues, the walk is not too bad, especially with luggage collected.
The property boasts incredible views at the very top of Zurich. We came just after new years so it was very busy, with lots of tourists. The walk was a bit slippery, but our bags were picked up at the station. We also dined at the restaurant and it was incredible service and food.

SwitzerlandThe room had a nice view but needs renovating or atleast a bit more decoration (very empty/bland) and better sound proofing as we could hear lots of after evening activities that were going on (the kind you don't want to hear when you're asleep if you get me 😅). Also directions to areas in the hotel unclear (e.g. where to go for breakfast or to visit the spa). Compared to the restaurant and breakfast area, the room was disappointing as not decorated with the same care. In general, our impression was that the focus seems to be on the gastronomie rather than the hotel itself. Overall, we would come back for a brunch or a dinner but would not come back to stay in the hotel.
The restaurant is amazing and the welcome drinks were a nice touch. Staff in the restaurant were super friendly and the food was delicious. Restaurant itself beautifully decorated- 10/10. Location is of course top class. We celebrated my husbands birthday here and the staff were so kind as to offer us a beautiful birthday desert which we really appreciated.

SwitzerlandThere were no towels for my partner. The breakfast was extremely expensive! I do not recommend taking it. Breakfast itself was OK but nothing spectacular for the price. Also, it would be nice to have 2 blankets and pillows in 2 person bed.

SwitzerlandWe paid extra for bringing the dog with us, which is ok -having an extra fee for pets is quite standard in every hotel. However, there was nothing for the dog in the room -normally after paying such a fee, hotels place a bowl of water or bowl of food or a mat/bed. It wasn't tragic, because we were prepared, but it's nice when the hotel offers something for pets when they consider themselves “pet friendly”.
This is a beautiful hotel, with a great location, and excellent breakfast. The room was 10 out of 10! Great bed, very spacious and modern. Super clean! We can only recommend!!

ChinaThe facilities are a bit old not very convenient for whom with big baggage.
The property is fine. Nice building, clean and easy interior decoration. The location is on the top of a mountain, only to get there by train. The neared area to get off or get on a taxi is super far away from the hotel. Likely they have brilliant view of Zurich and track of forests to walk around, otherwise I will not pick this hotel.

United StatesThe biggest issue I had with Hotel Uto Kulm was access. I was looking for a hotel with an elevator and parking because I was traveling with my elderly mother. Since the hotel is in a car free zone, the parking is off site. You’re supposed to walk from the parking to the closest train station (Uitikon Waldegg) to catch a train to the last train station (Uetliberg) where you can access the path to the hotel. Both the walk from the parking to the station and the walk from the station to the hotel are described as a 7-10 minute walk depending on what path you take. What they do not tell you is that the walk is uphill and relatively steep. My mother was unable to walk to the station and the hotel staff had no solutions. I ended up taking an Uber. Once we arrived at the Uetliberg station, we called the hotel and a staff member came to pick us up as was described. While the hotel does indeed have an elevator, it only has one in the main building. They have a separate wing that does not have an elevator. Our room ended up being in the wing without the elevator. In order to access the hotel lobby on the main building with the elevator, you have to go up stairs to enter. No ramp. In addition breakfast is either served in the main restaurant of the main building or in the facility between the main building and the other wing of the hotel. In the dining facility there is a flight of stairs to enter and once you’re seated, you have to take stairs down another section of the room to access the buffet. My mother uses a walker to get around. She’s not disabled per se, but requires certain accommodations that this hotel lacked. While they might want to welcome everyone to their hotel, Hotel Uto Kulm is definitely NOT disabled friendly and anyone with even a slight physical issue should probably find another hotel.
The location is amazing. The views are spectacular.

New ZealandThe very loud party outside our window until 2:90 am. We had a choice of opening the window, having music and drunken conversation blaring at us and being cool enough to sleep or closing the window suffering the sweltering heat but having something closer to the silence we expect being on top of the mountain. . Neither worked for us.
The location is amazing. The restaurant is nice. The hike up the hill isn't so bad as all the other reviews make it out to be. The hotel sent someone down to carry our luggage. The spa was fun.

United KingdomThe only thing was the cost of the dinner. We understand Switzerland is expensive but we paid 110 Swiss Francs for one plain vegan burger, one standard burger and two drinks. The food was not exceptional. I understand that you are probably paying for the view but we felt the food quality did not match the price. The breakfast is excellent but again quite highly priced.
The location of Uto Kulm is exceptional. The view from the terrace is out of this world. As you walk from the train station up the hill you see the view and it is breathtaking. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly one lady (I don't have her name unfortunately but she had long, blonde hair), who gave outstanding customer service. The rooms are clean and bright and we had a magnificent view from our balcony. The bathroom was also excellent. Also included in your stay is one complimentary trip to the spa, which was a relaxing bonus.
