LOVED the toilet and shower rooms. It was built to perfection. The rooms were spacious and I loved that we have our own closets and a sink as well.

Staff was very friendly, bar area / kitchen area was very cosy, nice garden, etc. My room was HUGE, clean and the mattress very comfortable. Another good thing to mention: In many hotels in Switzerland this winter the radiators were cold during the night hours, absolutely no heating. In the HYVE, there was a nice warmth and I had a very good sleep!

the staff was super friendly - Adrien stayed up later to wait for me as my plane was delayed because of strikes, and he stayed outside until 1am to make sure I'd check in ok. Then the next day they lended me an adaptor for my EU plug! Really great staff. Also, you get a BaselCard with your reservation, giving you free public transport and 50% off Basel museum so that makes up for the price (expensive for a dorm if you come from Europe where dorms are usually 10-15 euros per night). Highly recommend :)

We were a bit put off by the cost of the coffee the next morning, but I guess you have to expect that in Switzerland!

A huge double room, toilets and showers just down the hall. Lovely communal space. Fast wifi. Helpful directions so we found it from the train station easily and in under 5 min

I was not informed by the staff about the possibility of the Self-Check in Kiosk- if not for another fellow housemate, I would have been kept waiting for another hour to proceed with Check in Procedures!

Positive welcome area & a nice reception lounge. a good feel with a big kitchen & possibility to order basic food & coffee too. washrooms were clean, great luggage room facilities too. close proximity to train station & easy connection to many main attractions.

They mention in a sign that you can borrow a padlock for the luggage store, but when I asked for it, they said they don't have available, that's is completely understandable. But in the luggage room there were some empty lockers closed with padlocks (same model). I don't if users.only ask for them for nothing or something else.

It's very close to the central station and has a lot of facilities. Self check-in is great and so fast.

I did not find out from the mail how to enter the building. Normally, they wrote that there should be a code to enter the building without the help of other people, but to me and another guest, it was not clear at all.

Very easy checkin at a checkin station, comfy bed with a lot of power sockets. 7 minutes walk from the train station. Ideal to take a flight the next morning.

Beds are basic with no means of privacy/blocking light. Having the hairdryer and sink directly in the room encourages disturbing of room mates early morning/late at night.

No interaction with staff. The room/bed number is not sent on email and is only shown during check in, so make sure to note it down. Otherwise restarting the check in process shows it. Overall not much of a community to hang around that I found

Checkin was smooth direct with self service and keycard. Location was really convenient as it's next to Basel SBB walking distance. Rooms were larger that I expected and were relatively nice for the given price.

Everything was good!!

The hostel is located in a quiet place, very close to the train station and other transports. It's a little bit far away from the city center (around 25 minutes walking), but as a tourist, you will receive the Basel card that allows you to take the public transport free. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals and there is some coffee, tea you can use. There are some common areas very comfortable you can use during your stay or even after the checkout.

The location was good, a little far if you don't have a basel pass but great if you do. Facilities were clean and rooms were basic. The door that separates the room from the hallway helped muffle early risers and snoring. I had no contact with staff, but the check in/out process was easy.
