Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Full Bathroom is uncomfortable because is outside so if you are sensitive to changes of temperature this may affect you.

Utilities like the bathrooms could use some renovation
The lady at the reception was such a gem, other staff were also super friendly. The location is great. The bed was also good.

Our room window opened up to a pretty noisy street at night. However with the window closed this wasnt really an issue. And some of those Restaurants were very nice to visit. Would definitely recommend to any one backpacking around Chile
We loved our stay here. It was in a lovely location, the staff were super friendly and accomodating, and it was very easy to walk to some of sights such as the Bellavista neighbourhood and the Cerro San Cristobal.

Bathroom was pretty rough. There were 100's of drain flies on the walls and in the shower

The bed seems very weak. I mean, since I slept in the upper bed, I am afraid that it will break (eventhough it never happened). And there is very limited place to put your clothes and towels in the bathroom.
The location is very nice, it is right in the heart of the city center so public transportation can be easily caught. The staff is very nice and the hostel is very suitable for socializing with fellow travellers.

I booked as it was the cheapest in the city. I worried it might be a rough spot but it turns out to be in a smart corner of the city. The rooms are cramped but I found the spaces clean, the showers good and the staff friendly. Up to scratch if you are looking to save money

wonky beds that have nothing that prevents you from falling from the top bunk, unstable ladders and uncomfortable mattresses. open cables.

Very cold and showers were old and only half working.
The staff was really really nice and the rooms were clean. WIFI was also working.

Bedroom for 2 was quite small, we barely had room to put both our bags on the floor. Didn't see much going on around the hostel, but then again we only stayed 1 night.
The staff is nice. The beds are comfortable and the washrooms are clean.

I feel overall the hostel is great. It’s clean, comfortable and the breakfast is very delicious and healthy but I felt the manager of the property is a bit too involved in her approach. I felt every time she wanted to create some pressure for guests to book tours all the time when guests just wanted to sometimes take a break and rest. Although she runs the hostel well and everything is fine I just felt I wasn’t expecting such an involved manager who would always be involved in asking about guests’ plans.

Facilities are clean and staff is very nice! We had a guest in our room that wasn't comfortable with a ventilator during a very hot night and made a big scene and the staff was able to help us and was very professional!

I didn't like the fact the room, as it was close to the reception desk, was not soundproof, so I could hear the doorbell continuosly, and that disturbed my rest.
I liked the fact each room door has a digital key lock, so no worries about the keys getting lost. Also, it is very clean and you spare a towel if you don't have any.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but remember to pay the deposit for a front door key if you're planning on staying out past midnight! We found ourselves running back one night after dinner struggling to make the curfew. It didn't cause any issues and the staff let us in with no problems.
Lovely staff and great location. Room was good value for money, and had plenty of bars and restaurants near by.

It was so cold in our room that we asked for more blankets. The owner took one from another girl in our room and gave it to me. My girlfriend had to use her sleeping bag to get warmer. In the end she got a cold and was sick for 3 days. You always have to ring the bell to enter, if you want to go back later that midnight they give you a key but only for 24 hours which is ok but no the best solution.
The staff is nice, the shower is hot and the place is clean.
