Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBathroom was small and could do with more hooks to hang clothing etc. The room may need a bit of upkeep, for example the bed was comfortable but only one out of two of my plug sockets worked and the curtains were falling a part. Also bit weird the ladders weren't attached to beds and were almost shared amongst people on top bunks.
Great communal space both indoor and outdoor with hammocks , so easy to socialise. Staff and the host were really friendly and helpful, actually make an effort to chat to you. Great kitchen with free herbs, spices salt etc - well equipped too. Room has large lockers which was good and bed was pretty comfy. Location is great, we would recommend this hostel. And can't forget to mention the lovely dog Midnight!

United KingdomOnly slight issue was that the hostel is cash only which wasn't made clear but the staff gave us a couple of days to go to the ATM and take the pesos out. It wasn't an issue when we arrived but would have been helpful to know beforehand.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was brilliant and really close to the town centre. The shuttle bus from the airport also dropped us off outside the hostel! The hostel itself was really lovely and had a really community vibe- lots of seated areas outside with people chatting about the places they explored that day. . There were also good facilities inside for cooking and a dining table to eat at. The hostel also runs tours to different places around Pucon. We stayed for a week in a private room and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

CanadaThe showers are a bit small for me and the water is either hot enough to hurt the devil himself or colder then my ex wife
The beds were comfy, they have a great kitchen and common area! I would definitely stay again. Also they have the coolest dog ever named midnight 😁 definitely worth staying here just to pet him

HungaryThe shared bedroom has no windows. You got no keys, so you need to ring the bell every time you want to enter the hostel. I not experienced a great hostel vibe.
Free cofee & tea, real big lockers. They have contacts for all kind of activities.

SwedenVery cold room (the moveable heat fan made it bearable). Small room and extremly cold bathroom, but hot shower. No towels, even in the private double room with private bathroom, also no towels to rent since they were sold out when we were there

AustriaThe bedroom was a little bit small, but it's ok. The bathroom in the bedroom was small, and it took some time to heat, but there was a bathroom in the lobby that was big and pretty good 😁.
The place was really good, big and, comfortable, and it was pretty cheap at the time, the price for 6 nights was the same as 3 nights in some other places. The staff was lovely. They had a cute dog. The kitchen, lobby and outside area were pretty spacious. The bed was comfortable.

AustraliaThe power went out at 11pm, a man claiming to be the owner let himself into our private room at 11.30pm, greatly disturbing us. As we had ear plugs in due to the loud music and noise around the hostel we didnt hear him knocking. The electricity remained off and there was no apology or explanation for why the owner needed to come into our room while we were sleeping. The party continued until 2am and since all rooms face the garden, I wouldn't recommend the hostel if you want to get a good night's sleep The hostel only takes cash and would not provide a receipt when requested. It's not possible to stay in the hostel after checking out. Really inconvenient if you have a late bus There was a very thin perspex window linking the private room to a dorm room, so every little bit of noise or light went between the rooms. Not very private for a private room
Handy location. Decent facilities (fridge in the bedroom). Midnight, the dog

Great value and centrally located. The highlight of our stat was Midnight who was the best host I've ever had. He welcomed us and even showed us around the town and lake. He even showed us his favorite restaurant. It was a very chill stay with great company. The bonfire at night was also a great way to meet other travelers and share stories. Would stay here again to hang out especially to hang out with Midnight.

United KingdomThey would only take cash so I couldn’t avoid the 19% tax (as I didn’t have dollars), making the stay more expensive than I expected. Plus, the receptionist at check-in didn’t feel particularly friendly. I could feel the springs in the bed and there weren’t enough sheets/layers so I got cold in the night. The bathrooms weren’t very clean and when I tried to have a shower the water went from warm to scalding to then continually freezing. The environment didn’t feel very social and they wouldn’t let you use the hostel facilities after check-out. When I came back to collect my things, my food in the fridge had been taken out of it’s clearly labelled bag and moved around what seemed randomly to other shelves
Location was good, lots of common spaces

United KingdomThe floor in the rooms were constantly dirty, (probably the dirtiest hostel I've stayed in so far) showers would only have hot water for the first 10 seconds after being turned on which isn't ideal after long hikes and cold days. Signs up everywhere demanding you leave and don't use the kitchen etc as soon as you check out - they didn't seem to actually enforce this, however it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth considering most hostels follow the unwritten rule of being able to store luggage and use facilities for a few hours before/and/or after checkin/out
Good location, close to everything but off the main road so you get best of both worlds. Staff were incredibly friendly and wanted to help you out, give advice on things to do. Individual plugs and curtains on beds. While I was there it was very social - no issue meeting other people to explore with
