The place is old and you can smell it. Our room had no outside window. No sound isolation at all. Bedding was synthetic.

Gamboa mirador is across the street. Very good breakfast.

Disappointed my room didn't have an outside window. The walls are quite thin so I had to sleep with my earplugs in.

The bathing area is quite small and the bathroom does not have hitting so it’s chilly in winter to take a shower.

My room was in the interior of the house, the only window gave on to a kitchen/patio area so it didn't feel very private (I kept the curtain closed). Breakfast was slightly disappointing.

Good location close to both town centre & artesan/restaurant area on Costanera. Professional welcome. Wardrobe & shelves for storage, nice bath-towels.

Although we were in summer, it was cold at night. The room was small and the bathroom was cold.

The lady in charge is very nice and helpful. It's very informal: as if I were living in the house with them. I could use the kitchen, the fridge, use cutlery and dishes, then wash them, etc. That was great 👍

The room is not as private as the window in the bedroom faces the storage room. Bathroom is a bit small with a tiny bathtub however the bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled so clean. 😊 One thing to note, clients do not have access to the gate key which makes you feel a little rushed to make it to the 11pm curfew however, they do recommend to call them if you are running late.

This is such a comfortable spot. The bed is cozy. People are friendly. Wonderful location for getting around. The sheets are so soft and then water is hot!! It is amazing to feel so comfortable in a place like this. Also they provided excellent advice about where to go.

The location is perfect, close to the town center, the artisan market, restaurants and the museum. It feels very authentic as the host and her family live in the same house. The kitchen is accessible to the guests. The host provides breakfast, which is good and plentiful with home made bread and pastries.

no outside windows + it is not a guesthouse - it is a family house, where the family lives and receives guests, so you have to go through their private spaces (than hear them) - and you are not able to entry or leave the house, if they are not there ... it is good to know about this set up in advance

The bedroom had no window to the outside, just one into an internal roofed sort of courtyard. The shower was weak with unreliable hot water.

The location was brilliant. Very close to the main plaza but quiet. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

Note that you have to pay CASH at the hostal. The rooms on the ground floor do not have external windows. If you try to take a shower and the washing machine is running there will be no water. One of the towels smelled musty and horrible but the other was crisp and white and clean. Breakfast was adequate. No fruit or eggs. instant coffee. I felt that it was overpriced.

The Hostal was very loud. We could hear our fellow guests very clearly as well as the family who resides there. In particular it was very irritating to have to listen to their two children who were up quite late running around. I would not have booked with this hostel if I had known there were children living at the property.

Our room was clean, large and comfortable. Fast wifi. Good location in Castro. We consistently had hot water even with an unexpected power outage.
