Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesComplicated light switches in the room. No way to light up the corridor area only. The lobby is always crowded with people taking photos.
Love the location, great restaurants on the property, and helpful staff.

ChinaIt’s really great, just like you’d expect. It’s a bit pricey and for the same amount of money you could get a bigger room somewhere else but the whole is just so nice than it’s no big deal. Id rather have a smaller room and nice facilities/awesome staff and services than a bigger room. Location is really great, it’s a bit outside of the buzzing city that can be overwhelming at some point so it’s really comfortable.

AustraliaThe breakfast and the cocktails in the bar did not meet my expectation. The quality of the food and the taste of cocktails need to improve.
I like the room is very spacious and with the river view. It is very clean. I’ll stay there again for my next trip.

Australiathe buffet breakfast was amazing and the price is reasonable. the lunch/the yumcha is a little bit pricy but still attracts many tourists and the locals as well. The environment is fabulous with waterfall, fish and Bush and the museum exhibitions are unforgettable with too many priceless items like ivory and jade engraving arts.

ChinaThe staffs in the lobby and the restaurants are a bit undertrained. The food quality lowered comparing to our last visit.
We’ve visited here a couple years ago when it was freshly renovated and everything was amazing. We are happy to see that this hotel maintained its quality over the years. The room and amenities are top notch clean and comfortable. The staffs at the exec lounge are extremely polite and helpful. Overall a great stay.

Hong KongStaff are generally very hospitable and friendly. But as a renowned five star hotel, I would expect the service to be really above the standard. The market competition is fierce. If it wants to be comparable to global brands like Mandarin Oriental and Ritz Carlton, this hotel needs to polish its hospitality (which is already very good, of course). Separately, just wonder if the hotel should name itself 'The White Swan.' Drop the article 'the' and it feels so different in English.
Very clean and spacious room. Superb historical location and river view. Loved the hotel museum particularly! This hotel is part of the story of China's economic reform and open up. Definitely worth a visit!

ChinaWe had a club access but I don't think it was that worth it except we didn't need to wait to check in or have beeakfast in a chaos with bunch of others. (They have a bigger buffet though) They can improve the menu for the club lounge, tea time and breakfast. all of it. The English ability of the staffs was disappointing as usual just like in any other hotels in China. We were expecting it better since it's 5 star hotel. It was good enough to get everything you need. The hotel is well taken care of but old. Hope you get rid of the carpets and old warn out fabric furniture when renovating. They are just not very hygiene and keep the space dusty and smelly. In-room ordering food looked very pricey. We could have ordered some snack and drinks if it was reasonable. There are mostly Chinese restaurants around, so it will be nice if you run a proper western restaurant in the hotel. Also with a vegetarian menu option. As a vegan, there was absolutely nothing to have at those 3 restaurants available in the hotel atm. Sad. Plus the TV channels should add more in English. Only few were on. Shame when there re 3 TVs in the room. (Bring your laptop and HDMI cable!)
Pretty much everything. We liked the spacious room and the river view. The bathroom was big and I loved the vegetarian toiletery of ETRO. Lovely scent on me whole day. We got the room upgraded and a cake delivered for bday. Very appreciated..! My husband enjoyed the pool and sauna. By the way the best thing is the location. Walking distance from the metro station and it's right on the center on the island. You can easily walk around everywhere.

ChinaThe food at the club lounge was very disappointing especially at the prices we paid for. The lounges at other hotels we have stayed at (the Hyatt) were much better. The breakfast was also disappointing at the club lounge and the Riverfront. For the price that we paid to stay 3 nights, one would expect better food with more variety at the club lounge as well as the River Front. This is definitely a Chinese hotel, albeit it a luxurious one. We are used to better food service at these prices... our server didn't know how to pour a craft beer at the Michelin rated restaurant and when we tried to stop her, it took her a while before she understood. The tea charge was per person instead of per pot for dinner. The pool requires guests to wear swimming caps, even when guests are not putting their heads under water. Many Western hotels at this price point don't have such restrictions. Again, at the price we are paying for, the hotel should just make sure to clean the pool more frequently instead of inconveniencing hotel guests. Hotels seem to have this annoying trend of the TV automatically blasting some music and marketing the moment you walk into the room, and there's nothing to tell us how to stop it or turn it off short of unplugging the TV. Again, at these prices, some peace and quiet seem to be not too much to ask. Limited restaurant options for dinner (perhaps due to Covid?)
We liked the comfort, the service, and the location on Shamien Island. Having the club lounge access was a nice treat away from the crowds. Being able to have the concierge at the club lounge make dinner and lunch reservations for the hotel restaurants at short notice was a nice plus. The staff at the club lounge were excellent and so was their English. The dinner at the Tastes of China (I can't remember the exact name) was delicious, as well as the dim sum, both of which we had to pay extra. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Fruit in the room is a nice touch.
