Staff make this stay. They are young workers but they are all very good. They seam to enjoy their job. Make the travellers feel comfortable and help everyone tallk to each other. I really found Lora super helpful, so much energy. She helped me order food (early breakfast) and book a cab on her day off so I can get to the airport on time (she told me realist time to get ready). Genuinely a nice person. If you want a cocktail, Xing can make it and more. One of the best bartender (mixologist) I have had the pleasure of meeting. So good, I challenge him to make me a drink with dragon fruit, the results to special! Also a funny person. And finally Mike, helped me on for a self guided tour, saved lots of money! Will love to stay again! Beds and bathroom are clean and have hot water.

The staff were Very friendly and helpful! Also the location and the environment were very nice with very good music! We stayed at a private room and the bed was confortable and big. Damon and Laura helped with everything all the time! If I could get back to Chengdu, I would certaily stay at Sonderia Hostel again!! :)

Additional small towels would have been great. The toilet wasn't found clean, which wasn't to our liking. The bed was partly very squeaky.

The receptionist was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is a lift and the interior design is very cozy. Our bedroom was really sweet and we got a room with a view of the river, which was wonderful. The bed was large and mostly comfy and the bathroom was very spacious. The location is next to the river, where it's lovely to go for a walk, and subway stations are close by, too.

The shower door didn't close properly and wasn't the cleanest room but overall very good value for what it is, so we were happy with it!

Great stay in Chengdu, short walk to the old bustling town full of shops, restaurants and close to restaurants that locals go. Theres a bank about 5 mins nearby and next door is the best biang biang noodle bar that's full and busy with locals eating breakfast and lunch, very cheap and best meal! Stayed at a private room which was nice and cosy, with the usual amenities. There's a nice bar in the reception and staffed by really nice workers and they have nice events in thr evenings at times. The staff are really helpful and try their best to help with tours, travel and advice. I'd highly recommend the place for the location, nice vibes, helpful staff and value! Its about 20-30min drive from the closest airport and they can assist with booking a taxi beforehand otherwise the local taxi by airport was slightly cheaper and widely available.

The atmosphere is incredibly cool. The nice terrasse, a diner organized for all guests, and a fun chinese cooking workshop : all this helps bringing chinese and not chinese speaking people together. The staff is incredibly gentle and nice, helping with train tickets (special thanks to Lora) and teaching some chinese (special thanks to Damon). Thanks a lot to all of you !

Got mosquitoes(maybe due to the season) but overall still great.

i booked 4 beded for one day and 3 beded for the rest of the days..The 3 beded room is much better compare to 4 beded. The bed and pillow are comfortable for sleeping.

1. Location is 20-25min walk from subway station which with luggage / tired legs meant lots of taxi rides. 2. Trip hazards getting to/from our room - uneven steps / flooring in common areas. 3. Staff were helpful but only if you were persistent in asking and managed to get them away from their usual pastime of playing games or chatting with friends in the bar or smoking areas next to the reception.

Overall enjoyed the stay and recommend it for anyone looking for a cheaper stay in Chengdu. Great value hotel, chilled atmosphere, excellent noodle and hot pot restaurants nearby, nice walk to nearby attraction, free adhoc evening parties

A bit far from the subway, but well, that’s China for you !

Damon the owner speaks perfect English and will help you with everything ! Rooms are big, clean, bright and comfortable You can do laundry very easily They can organise tours for you for a very fair price And they have parties during the week where you can meet other guests ! Would go there again 100% next time in Chengdu

The staff was very nice and friendly! The room was even better than expected, clean and quite spacious for a shared room. I liked the bar and if you're lucky they also sometimes do live shows! Also love that they offered free activities, such a shame I didn't have time to attend!

Theres was nothing negative i found out yet, maybe i got lucky this time, my experiences here was totally amazing.

The hotes staff is all cute and friendly. Cheap price. I got my free coffee every morning, its was really good. Free Dumpling(i love the sauces). Hostel have free Opera too. The staff is always happy, ready to help me with many questions that doesnt related to the hotel. Free gym room, free laundry.

This place was absolutely brilliant. The staff were very helpful, thank you Damon for all the advice. They hosted a hotpot and dumpling making evening to bring guests together. Just before checkout I was unwell and ended up extending and they even Checked me in early . Thank you for a wonderful stay
