Too many people smoked in the hostel

The price for a backpacker’s hostel was quite low. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Just the location is not the best but that is reflected in the realistic price for a nights stay.

Helena, a lady working at the front desk is simply outstanding. Her answers to all questions regarding sights to see, trains, Metro, busses, taxis entrance bookiongs to museums etc were instant and correct. She is a walking directory of train, museums, important sights, temples etc. She went out of her way to help. She did bookings for me, a very difficult thing to do for some sights for a tourist as not all the booking pages are easy to navigate, even if you do speak Chinese and can read it fluently. She made my stay so efficient i was able to see everything i wanted plus several other excellent sights i had not known about.

Can do more in terms of recycling and Eco Enzyme for cleaning.

In the room there is written to NOT leave valuables inside of the lockers, but instead to bring them at the reception because it is safer. This made me feel really uncomfortable, because no way I'm gonna leave my laptop at the reception (felt even more unsafe). One evening there was shit on the ground in the toilet. 95% of the guests are chinese students staying there permanently (because it's among the cheapest places).

In the evening there is a good atmosphere in the common place. Very near to the Temple and not far from the Metro station.

We had two separate dorms, female dorm was a mess, it felt like people where living there for ages and it was not clean. Upon arrival, my bed wasn’t made but once reported, they changed it. As the two dorms weren’t uncomfortable and not clean, we asked for a private room and they arranged it without extra charge, which it was nice.

Location, close to several convenience stores, restaurants and not far from the monastery. You can rent towels (10 Yuen deposit) and they arrange several walking and food tours.

Mix really doesn't have any atmosphere anymore. I think part of it is that there aren't many foreigners now, but Mix never really recovered their atmosphere after they tried turning the outdoor common space into an expensive bar. No one ever went, and there was no place else really suitable for socializing with other guests. So now the bar is dead, and the outdoor still-a-bar-setup space generally deserted; and the inside just has people at tables looking at their phones. A fine place, just no hostel atmosphere anymore.

The notice that valuables to be kept in the reception instead of the locker made me paranoid. Hence, I followed their notice. Better be safe than sorry. I think the water in the toilet at times is not too fast or strong when flushing.

About 15 mins walk from the nearest metro. Closer to the wushu monastery. English speaking staff are available. Value for money. Near to Wanda Plaza and their is food street nearby.

The atmosphere was very nice. The hostel is a very friendly and comfortable place with a nice common room and great facilities. Would absolutely stay there again. The location is nice as well, not far to the next metro stations and close to wenshu monastery!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Helena was the best! The bedroom was clean. The bathrooms are shared, but they are kept cleaned and tidy. Great location! Easy to get taxis, lots of great places to eat (specially the restaurant right in front), and there’s a convenience shop next door, as well as a chemist right in front. Great place!
