Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The owners were very friendly and helpful; within walking distance of Leiyin temple and Mingsha mountain and crescent lake; not far from the #3 bus which goes into town; we were given a room in the back which was very quiet

United StatesToo far from the city (2.5 miles) without a car. No convenience store or restaurant nearby.
It’s quietness and the countryside setting.

TaiwanIt was not according to expectations. To be honest, I think the reviews in 2023 and before are written about a different hotel in the same location, so my assumption is that the owner has changed and the whole point is that all reviews prior to 2024 are therefore (in my eyes) not correct for the current situation. We did not like the fact that 1) breakfast was included --> can barely call this breakfast... Better say it's not included then. We stayed 3 nigths and only the 1st morning we got the so called breakfast (delivery style in a plastic box - already cold and not so tasty but OK). The other mornings we just got a plastic packed sweet bread and some drink, it's indeed breakfast, but I rather buy something myself.. Third day it was completely forgotten as the delivery failed that day... 2) 3 nights, with no change of towels or no bed making. We probably could have asked for new towels and get them, but it's a kind of passive attitude to never change towels or make the beds in a hotel for 30+ euro's per night in that area. 3) location: in the middle of nowhere, if I had to go again, I'd prefer to stay in Dunhuang town close to restaurants and night markets, everything is closeby by taxi's anyway and it's cheap. This location feels very remote. 4) The inn is very spacious but we felt like we were there alone, there is most of the time no one at the front desk and the full vibe is very deserted. 5) the place looks like it has known better times, also our feeling from the reviews... with current situation and for this price I would not recommend staying there although it's not bad. Probably could find better in the city.
The owner was friendly and helped us book the tours. He was always available on WeChat to answer our questions and help us book a taxi or anything. Spacious room, calm, clean, good beds.

United KingdomIt is extremely expensive for what it is. All over the West of China I’ve stayed in superb hotels for that price, with amazing breakfasts and modern facilities. This is just a hostel really, the beds aren’t made from day to day, it’s on a big road and a 39 minute walk to any shops, coffee shops and restaurants. The owner capitalised in this and charged 50% more to organise transport to see the sights and 100% on any items from his tiny shop selling basics like instant noodles. Despite the advert, there is no breakfast on site. First day was a filled bun in a plastic bag, second day was a bag of crackers. There was also no real windows in the room, apart from one into the internal lobby.
The owner was really nice, helpful and friendly

BrazilThe owners were very friendly and helpful. They took me to the backyard to pick up dates, grapes and the sweetest pears and peaches that I have ever eaten. You can see camels every day around the inn. The location is really good, near Mingsha mountain and crescent lake.
