Beautiful building located next to the lake, and walking distance from all the main Guilin attractions. Breakfast was a pretty good mix of continental and Chinese food The hotel receptionist was incredibly helpful and nice, able to help with good English to plan our visit to the city and surroundings

Booking.com shows pictures of the two best rooms with a view of the lake. The two best rooms in this beautiful hotel-- on the third and fourth floor-- no longer have those views. The trees around the lake have grown too tall and blocked the views which were advertised. They are still very nice, comfortable and quality rooms-- just without the view. Second small complaint is that there are some music/singing performances which take place in the adjacent park, which is literally under your window. These can be quite loud, and lasted until about 10 pm on at least 2 nights of our 5 day visit.

Aroma Tea House offers perfect hospitality in Guilin! The staff are friendly, patient, helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, bright and beautifully furnished with antiques and classic Chinese paintings and sculptures. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and served in a room with nice views of the surrounding area. The location is perfect for walking to most of the favorite tourist sites, such as the sun and moon pagoda, Elephant hill, and the departure dock for Li River cruises.

Very friendly hotel employes that offered me free transportation from the train station. I could also exchange some money. It is located next to the 4 lakes and the elephant trunk,in the middle of the city,so you can take a stroll in the market in the evening. Very nicely decorated traditional stone rooms too.

Very friendly hotel staff that speak English quite well. They got me a taxi to the Longsheng Rice fields. I spent one night here and then left, leaving my big bag, returned the day after and got a room upgrade. The hotel is close to Elephant Trunk Hill and a popular shopping street. Felt safe as a solo female traveller. Breakfast was nice as well. The first day I had to leave early and they made me breakfast to go. When I left they gave me a little pot with black tea.

The staff at the hotel was super nice and everyone spoke English. They helped with everything that we needed and we also booked our trips with them. Also the room was very quite, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was also good.

We picked this hotel for its unique charm and it did not disappoint. It's almost a museum, every room feels special and authentic in its own way. The balcony, with its teapot with local tea, was a charming feature. The breakfast was very nice, with a mix of western and Chinese food. As a vegetarian I had many options. The hotel also arranged a few activities for us (various taxis, a visit to the Longjing rice terraces, and the Yangshuo river cruise) which was very convenient. Staff is very nice and speaks very good English.

The breakfast had no variety.

This was my favorite city of the trip! The hotel staff spoke good English and were very welcoming. The hotel was located on the edge of one of the main lakes and was about a 20-minute walk from the attractions in the city.
