Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe buffet had just 1 coffee machine for hundreds of people and way to little options, the tong tray had a hair in it and staff would push you around. The pillows were so squished and smelly I couldn't sleep properly

MalaysiaThe view of the room I have given. Despite being out the whole day, we do which to wake up in the morning to see a better view, rather than the back lane view. The pillow is too soft, that I have to use their towel to replace the pillow. The room is quite hot despite the air conditioning is on.
The location is the best, walking distance to all the main attractions. There are only 2 staff which I find friendly, helpful and never fail to smile. The doorman who always greet us with his big smile, and the front desk girl named Shang Ying Shi.

United KingdomInternational cards did not work at all (tried 5 different cards between Mastercard, Amex, Visa). At the end we were only able to pay thanks to one of us having leftover RMB in a Bank of China account. Seeing that cards were struggling to work, our impression was that the staff got frustrated telling us that it was the fault of the intl banks rather than theirs, which I do not think was a correct attitude to have with a customer. I would have appreciated the receptionist to tell me calmly about any ATMs/points nearby where to withdraw RMB. Instead, he did not proactively mention this and only when we asked we were directed to an ICBC branch nearby which did NOT accepts international cards. In the end we had to find one on our own and luckily were able to withdraw at Bank of Jiangsu near Tiantong Lu station. It would be great if this was indicated to customers early if such issues presents themselves. For reference, I will add that we were able to pay for souvenirs with intl cards at the French Concession for less tbh and 50 RMB, but a much greater sum was nearly impossible to be paid in the hotel. We also contacted the bank which informed us that the transaction didn’t succeed due to the supplier being likely unable to access the circuit.
The room was very good and spacious. Breakfast was really good as well and overall stay was enjoyable. Location is great and value for money is really good. The staff is overall helpful

United KingdomNo views from the forth floor. If you want to see the Shanghai tower, you’ll have to be floor 6 (or 7) at least. The nearest subway station (Tiantong) is strange, as its exits go through an underground market, which is dodgy in places. If you want to avoid scruffy old men offering you ‘fun’, leave through exit 3! Staff at the front desk of the hotel were stressed and not very friendly, even when speaking Chinese with them. They didn’t give us any information and reluctantly helped my daughter to connect to the internet (the ‘guide’ in the room is wrong and you seem to need extra passwords).
Nice room, very conveniently located for the Bund.
